Yeah The Jimmi Hendrix transfer is probably one of the worst HD transfers I've seen. Shame

Children of Men however is a superb transfer, absolute bargain at a pound, voted Hot!

I think it looks really good considering when and how it was filmed :?. And for a £1 can you really complain?. I'd pay at least triple that for it on dvd.

Is it 'The Hulk' or 'The Incredible Hulk' ?

The Hulk was awful!

Children of Men I liked though :-)

Am I right in saying these HD-DVD discs are pretty much defunct since Blu-Ray won the battle of the High-Def disc?
Presumably there are people out there who have spent good money buying a HD-DVD player and will be glad to pick up some cheap discs to get the most out of their player (before they go the way of Betamax video recorders, destined for the museum) but for those people wise enough to go down the Blu-Ray route to HD (or those of us still stuck in the SD generation) all these are fit for are drinks coasters.
That said, people do seem to be voting this deal hot, so maybe it's just me !!?

My HTPC plays both. These are bargains. Hot from me.

Not quite true, many HD-DVD players also play Blu-Ray such as the LG ones and a few of us got hold of the Microsoft HD-DVD drives for the 360 for less than a tenner.

So a quid for a film thats around 12-25 quid on Blu-Ray is a bargain in anyone's book. Might eve make a good collectors item in 20 years time

Yeah, undoubtedly a bargain for anyone with the equipment to play them. Like I've said, I'm not even part of the HD generation but I was aware that there are mult-format HD players out there and certain games consoles / computers capable of playing them - I was just surprised by how popular this deal appears to be as I genuinely thought it was a minority format. Shows you what I know !!! :p

When DVDs for 3 quid are getting heat I'm not surprised people are liking the look of this. I have an HD Drive attached to my Xbox and the quality of most of the movies I have in this format is cracking. I'll pop along to my local poundland and see if there are any there.

Just sold a three of my old ones on ebay for £15 so maybe some money to be made
as well

Your last line is spot on. Its just you. If you want me to elaborate I can.

What is there to elaborate?
All I said was that I was under the (misinformed) impression that the HD-DVD format was redundant, but it turns out that it's still fairly popular. Clearly the £1 discs are a bargain if you are able to use them, but I wonder how many people have bought them by mistake and tried to play them on their standard DVD player, without realising they're HD discs.
#23
any other stores have these? very hot :)
#24
I'll be checking em out 2moro.
#25
Woo, wondered when these would reach the pound shops, must still be a ton of HD DVDs knocking about.

Maybe the Mods have traced/linked the poster to some of the recent 'bogus' posts? The proof will be if anyone else sees these today, please post if you do . If there aren't any in the Birmingham store mentioned by the OP them we will know!

These were on sale in the Cardiff store yesterday for £1. They also had Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift for the same price. I cant confirm the Birmingham deal but the deal is definitely on in Cardiff.

I bought all four different HD-DVDs, here is a pic of my receipt:

Wasted trip as the wife ended up finding nearly £20 worth of other crap instead.
