I do think you'd be a bit mad to buy the Harry Potter films considering the next two won't be available on HD-DVD, so you'll have a bit of a mixed collection! But that's just me liking everything neat and tidy. :-D

Your House ? ;-)

Almost! Except I wouldn't have pink cushions.

Anyway, just ordered a couple. Weird system - you don't have to register if you pay them through Paypal, and the amount they charge 'pending' is without shipping. And if these count as pre-orders, then you pay 50c less in shipping. Anyway, with shipping, £11 for 2, so that's okay!

I have ordered The Ant Bully, only a few quid but not entirely sure what they charge for shipping.
Has anyone had experience with this site before? :)

Used them a few times over the years, never had a problem. Takes a couple of weeks for stuff th get here from OZ, but they quite often have 'unique' box sets etc.
#10
Ok, great thanks
#11
Not available until March 28th,so it`ll be May by the time you get them?
#12
I just ordered 3 titles.. without having to register through PayPal. First time for me and this site too. The postal charges are there if you click to see them before you continue to PayPal. Worked out at AU$18 for the 3 for 'rest of the world'. No idea on delivery time. But since they won't be in stock until 28th March I won't expect them before the middle of April.
I'd think a lot more sites will be doing promotions like this with HD-DVD. Amazon.com are already clearing discs at at least 30% off!
#13
what is the limit before custom charges??

I have ordered The Ant Bully, only a few quid but not entirely sure what they charge for shipping.

If they count these as pre-orders, then it's $4.50 per item for 2 discs, going up to $18 for 3. It would be cheaper to put through two separate orders if you're ordering more than 2, I think.
#15
Keep it under AU$38 per order to keep it under uk customs limit. (£18)
#16
does p&p not matter ? i ordered 4 movies for $23.34 not sure on postage as they are pre orders ??
#17
P&P does not count towards customs.

Sorry do not want to be a bad egg but unless the packet is marked as a gift you will be charged taxes on the value of the goods and postage costs, insurance etc.....

The amount of customs charges payable will depend on the type of goods imported and the value (converted using the rates of exchange for the month of importation as shown on the HMRC website) stated on the customs declaration :

Customs duty is usually charged as a percentage of the value. The percentage varies depending on the type of goods and their country of origin. Duty is charged on the price paid for the goods including any local sales taxes plus postage, packing and insurance costs. However, postage is excluded from the calculation for duty on gifts sent by post except for Express Mail Service (EMS).

Where the value of gifts is below £290 per consignment a flat rate of duty of 3.5% will be applied, but only if it is to your advantage.

Also, for reference, if the amount of duty to be paid is less than £7.00 it will not need to be paid. Just thought as this is what I do for my day job I would share some of the useless knowledge (so I thought) I have built up over the years.
#19
generally correct however to clarify if you are under the limit you will not get taxed (total cost inc shipping less than £18 or so?)

the GIFT only comes into play (as shipping doesnt get included in the calculation) when your total inc shipping is >£18

Will just have to wait and see what charges we receive then, thanks for the info :)
#21
Ikduncan, you are correct.
I should of made things a litlle clearer.
#22
Tempting, but can't help thinking there's better offers just around the corner once postage is taken into account :)

Although I bet I end up in the same scenario I went through with CD-I/SACD/DVD-A discs - Spending vast amounts of time tracking down then eventually paying an absolute fortune for OOP discs :)

HD-DVD is a dead format, so there are bound to be loads of good deals around the corner as retailers clear their shelves. All the major labels have terminated production of HD-DVD - BluRay has won the war.

How odd, considering it was different retailers and different titles available! Let's merge all food threads, because they're all about food, doesn't matter which supermarket they're from! :-D

My Transformers HD-DVD arrived from DVD-Crave today. It was cunningly disguised as an envelope!
