The Fog is set in Antonio Bay, a sleepy and quaint little seaside town about to celebrate it's centenary. On the eve of this momentous day a mysterious, glowing fog rolls in to town and suddenly people start to die, horribly. Slowly the shameful secret of the town unravels a tale of the greedy and cruel town founders and the inhabitants of the nearby leper colony. Now a hundred years later a new generation of Antonio Bay-ers must reap what their ancestors sowed. Starring horror's sweetheart Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween, A Fish Called Wanda, True Lies), Adrienne Barbeau (Escape from New York, Cannonball Run) and the scream goddess Janet Leigh (Psycho, The Manchurian Candidate) this movie makes you never want to be caught in a fog again!

Don't forget to run through Quidco for 10% back.

'Basic Instinct' (£3.99) & 'Rambo - Part 2' (£4.99) also available there now.

Remakes are always total rubbish. They are doing an american remake of "The Long Good Friday", I'm sure that'll be good :whistling::whistling::whistling:

Yes, this movie (the original, not the remake) is a well-made horror film.

A piece of trivia: A mainstay of this film is when the creepy fog comes rolling in from the sea to envelop the town. Well, when we took the guided bus tour of San Francisco, our guide explained that the fog scenes were shot by the Golden Gate bridge, as these 'rolling' fogs are commonplace there.

Bang on cue, while we were out of the coach at the far end of the bridge, the warm air got noticeably colder and we watched in fascination as great banks of fog literally rolled in from the sea, rolling down the sides of the hills and up the valley. From being a warm, sunny day, everything was engulfed in this cold, creepy fog, with mournful fog sirens sounding. It took our coach ages to get back across the bridge due to the impenetrable fog.

Fortunately, so far as we could judge, no ghosts came in with the fog . . . Jamie Lee Curtis was not so lucky!

Remakes are always total rubbish.

Dawn Of The Dead, Scarface, Cape Fear, Oceans Eleven to name but a few. You never know the long good friday remake could be worth watching but all depends on the director.

I would add The Fly to your list too.

Also another Carpenter Classic The Thing, you could also say Assault on Precinct 13 was a remake of Rio Bravo, it was intended as such listening to carpenters commentary (but the remake of the remake was not so good).

This film is fantastic! Terrifying, all the more so because of the music.

The remake was appalling and an insult to the name...
