A lone time traveller from the year 2035 must solve a riddle that may save his people... but it may also take him to the brink of madness. Bruce Willis, Madeline Stowe and Brad Pitt star in this brilliant sci-fi masterpiece from Terry Gilliam. After the world's population is devastated by a killer virus, survivors must live in dark underground communities. Cole (Willis) "volunteers" to travel into the past to obtain a pure virus sample, thereby helping scientists develop a cure. Along the way, he crosses paths with a beautiful psychiatrist (Stowe) and a one-card-short-of-a-full-deck mental patient (Pitt). But the race is on, as Cole searches for The Army of the 12 Monkeys, a radical group linked to the deadly disease.

With unforgettable performances and imaginative special effects, 12 Monkeys is a modern-day classic laced with Gilliam's trademark wit and dazzling visual style.

Don't forget to run through Quidco for 7% back.

** Pride & Prejudice also listed there **

I didn't know this HD DVD even had a UK release!

Good spot and once again, good on HMV for still finding some of these titles. They must look in every corner of every DVD warehouse in the Country!
#5
Pride & Prejudice with Keira Knightley and the original Elizabeth with Cate Blanchett are also available.
#6
i picked this up from the US couple of months back, good film but not a great transfer
#7
This was on HMV a couple of days ago, but at £4.99. Irritating that it's been reduced after that voucher stopped working.

I bought this from HMV months ago for around this price, cant remember the price but it was under £5. Still a hot price

EDIT:- Looked on HMV and this must be American version of the disc, the one I bought had a different cover.

Yeah but how many quality films have you bought for that small amount of money think of that

Just a pity these were not around when I ordered 12 the other day with the £2 voucher. Just ordered 12 Monkeys and Elizabeth, and now thinking of getting Pride & Prejudice too.

Got over 50 HD DVDs now since May.

Now of only HMV could source The Elephant Man on HD DVD cheap.

Heat & rep added for the heads up on this.

The 1st Elizabeth seems to be a newly added title, not the Golden Age one:

Yeah, it must be an import, my wife has Golden Age so ordered it to accompany it on the ever spreading HD DVD shelf.

Elephant Man is hard to get at a decent price, the picture quality looks great , sharp in black and white (rented it from Lovefilm), the audio isnt up to much though. If only I could source it for £3

I had the French import ordered from some website for £4:99 but they canceled my order after a few weeks and said they could'nt get more stock, it appeared on their site a few days later with a higher price tag!!! Cheapest you can get it new now is from playtrade for £7.50 but I would rather wait and see if it comes out on blu-ray at that price.

hold on wasnt this a usa only release ......why did i pay like £10 on import 1 month back

Release date: 8-9-2008

Yeah, I got this on import a while ago. As has been mentioned, it's not the best transfer out there but it IS better than the DVD so I'm happy. Just waiting for Transformer's, Pan's Labyrinth and La Haine to drop in price, they're the only ones I really want now.
