Hi All, I'm a long time lurker, first time poster, so please go easy with me :-)
The deal is outstanding considering what else is out there,
Exactly the same camcorder as the Award winning HDC-TM700 but with better low light performance and Pannies new Hybrid OIS stabilizing system which is apparently 40% better than the TM700.
Just to give you an idea here are the cheapest prices of the equivalent Panasonic 2D camcorders:
- Panasonic HDC-SD700 = (£600)
Note: does not have on board memory, only saves to sd card
- Panasonic HDC-HS700 = (£750)
Note: 240GB HDD
- Panasonic HDC-TM700 = (£690)
Note: Last years model with 32GB onboard memory and SD card
So as you can see even compared to other models, it's like the cheapest model and you are getting the 3D lens for free!!!!
The cheapest I could find online anywhere was £900 for this camcorder, until I walked INSTORE to Southampton Panasonic store. Also note, this is INSTORE only.
The original RRP price in October when released was £1499!!! Some places are still selling at that price. Including Panasonics website.
The instore price is £699, but to qualify for 0% finance, they add 1p to round it off to £700, as it is the minimum buy price to qualify for 0% finance. Then after 10% cashback, works out at £630.
Add 5 years warranty, and I have to admit, this is one of the best bargains I have seen recently. Almost a third of the price of when new OR a third of the price off the cheapest online.
And the fact it's the best camcorder on the market, just puts the cherry on top of the deal.
I mean used top of the range camcorders are going for around £400+ on fleabay, so I'm sure you could probably get most of your money back after a year. Especially if people weren't aware of this deal and always thought of the average price of this being £900.
Oh yeah, Please add heat due to the major discount on price, NOT because you think 3D is a dead duck. I mean even I think it is, but a deal is a deal ;-)
But if you insist, you can just put thte 3D lens away and use it as a 2D camcorder. Or sell the lens and reduce the price even further! ;-)
Anyway, I'm going down to grab myself one, so enjoy the deal.
