Yes... but make sure you ask for an extra pair of glasses to put over the lense(s).

I just can't see 3-D TV being a big deal any time soon.

I could see the benefits of going 405 line -> 625 line -> colour -> widescreen -> HD

Those were sensible technological advances, but 3D seems a desperate attempt to sell yet another technology to the public.

Need to stop having to wear glasses for it to take off imo

It will in the next two or three years in my opinion. The Nintendo 3DS doesn't need glasses, so it's only a matter of time before they can increase the screen size of 3D TVs not needing them either.

Good luck in editing it, another wedge of cash needed for that!!

They'll milk the public to spend on 3D with the need for glass's before the newer technology come's out

Its precisely that reason why 3D has not taken off in Japan.

Actually that's not really true.

You'd only edit one of the two video streams and just do the same thing to the other one. With CGI, such as Avatar, it's really easy. You just re-render the scene from a slightly different viewpoint.

There's more storage involved, and obviously more computer time required, but from a technical point of view it isn't anything horrendous.

I do speak from some experience of editing 3-D (Saudi Aramco promo about 8 years ago) and lots of experience with 'normal' editing.

The technology is there. It is just either very expensive, or the tech companies are holding it back so to milk it for as much as possible.

Don't buy this Panasonic camera. Save your £800. It will go either of 2 ways...

- 3D won't take off, rendering this camera obsolete
- 3D will take off, and in a few months time, new technology will render this camera obsolete

Or

- You could make some really fun 3D home movies in the meantime until 3D does or doesn't take off :)

Guys guys guys...the comments should be about the deal...it IS the cheapest anywhere so hot for me.
As to those who are the "wise monkeys" maybe this won't be in your budget but some will enjoy it for waht it is at present. Don't criticse unless you've actually seen it in action.
This is exactly what puts people off from putting any deal on HUKD!!
Do you know of a better deal?
Put up or shut up.

So I can't express my opinion about the technology, but still vote hot?

It's a great price, so I voted hot. I don't believe it's worth buying, but nonetheless, it's the best price for this particular item.

Yes but the tech in the 3DS has limitations also, like viewing angle is very narrow

3D doesnt need to take off, the tech is so cheap for the manafacturers at least in terms of the shutter glasses
every TV will support 3d
