Why not the cheaper one it's £1.27 ie. 1p cheaper. AND the retailer has a dramatically better rating?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B000Q7BOUM/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all

If we are going to be drowned in these crappy Amazon MArketplace postings, then please let's have those that are actually the right deal!

Voted hot. But I reckon I'm not the only one getting annoyed with seeing more than necessary numbers of Amazon Marketplace HDMI cable deals..

I really hate it when "big" chain stores try and sell cables like these for ridiculous prices when you can get something just as good like these for a few quid. Great deal.

Agreed - And they tell outright lies about them too - I was told recently (in Comet) that by using the cable packaged with my SkyHD box it would be like using "cheap tyres on a porsche" and that I wouldn't get "proper" HD.

Pee's me off how they fool the 'technically fragile' among us into buying these.

My reply when faced with crap like that:

"If you were qualified to make a statement on the design and performance of a cables, you wouldn't be slumming it on minimum wage in a hovel like this" .... exit stage left, and make purchase elsewhere. ;)

Well thats what I was made to tell customers when I used to work there.

Yet free delivery to Leeds?! What's the bet it comes through Royal Mail either way and costs the exact same?

The usual HDMI comments about £1 HDMI cables compared to expensive ones, it's like when people say they spend loads of money on speaker cables too and then say it gives a better sound.
#26
Do you think you need to spend £100 on a USB cable to get better quality pictures from your camera?
#27
I work in IT Development technology.........

I was told exactly the same thing by this idiot at the Comet and I just told him to shut up and stop giving bad advice to people.

You only need Quality Cables if you need them over 3 metres. Do NOT buy any usb cable over 5 metres. If you need your cable over 3 metres upto 5 metres You will need quality (thick) and properly shielded.

You do need quality cables on your speaker setup depending on the distance. As the audio delivered to your speaker in anolog form and better the cable better the sound I am afraid

Don't be rediculous, it's not natural selection it's called con merchants screwing over their customers. You can't expect everyone to know everything about every industry. You go to shop and ask for advice because if they're an honest business they will help you make an informed decision and help you to buy the right product.

Problem is there's too many douchebag con merchants around these days, and even worse is a lot of them are the large national stores that should be reasonable value. It doesn't help when they employee idiots who don't care about the company or their job, or even more importantly their customers.

Thats what we call fraud in the UK and is a crime - you and your employer could and should be prosecuted

but you must be an idiot if you buy cables from places like this

"rediculous", really?

i expect that people should do basic research. what does it take an hour or so perhaps for someone who is perhaps a layman in regard to a given subject, who has an internet connection, to be able to come to a sound conclusion?

as for the stores and their staff, you don't need to work there to know they are all about pushing the cables, warranties etc., it is part of their business model, the staff have long lost their will to live and it is more prudent for them to do what they are told than to help the public. if they know anything they are probably smart enough not to tell you (given their employment) but chances are they are not. this is not true for everyone who has worked at such stores (i have never worked at an electronics store) but such people are not likely to be there for long, in one way or another... plus the sorts of stores we are generally talking about are hardly known for their customer service values - john lewis, i would expect that, but, would expect to pay a premium for it (if i chose to be ignorant) however, currys, comet etc. hahaha, if you choose to get advice from these retailers/staff then you have bigger problems to worry about then your hdmi cable...

what we are talking about here is the difference between people who go out do research and work to get a quality product for their money and those who expect it to be handed to them on a plate and complain when they have been ill advised by someone else who hasn't done the work because they don't care enough...

everyone can't win, this is a capitalist world... it is these people that allow people like us to get good deals!! if they did not exist then i would not like to think how things would be...
