Glad to see irony is alive and well, even if not everybody can spot it. ;)

As good as a Monster cable.

Just check that these cable are long enough for you, these are 1m cables and not the usual 1.5M.

just to let you know there's no such technical difference in a cable being gold plated and one being not. However a lot people might think that gold plated ones do some magic stuff. Hell no.

So I bought a 5m cable for £2.69. Rather than of 1m for a quid.

Hope that helps for anyone who's looking for a better length.

Be carefull if going for the longer cables as they can get quite tricky to untangle.

Longer cables can cost you more in the long run - believe you me!
I had a 5 metre cable which dangled on the floor. Tripped on it and pulled the TV off the cabinet - I am now a convert to £1 1 metre cables only, and I havent tripped over one since I have had no TV

However, gold plated won't tarnish so are likely to maintain a connection for longer. That's why CPU legs, PCIe card fingers etc..etc are gold.

On a practical level won't make a difference for most people.

Gold plating has been used for decades in electronics for touch contacts, because it has the best non-oxidising properties and maintains good conductivity for a contact connection over a long period.

People are confused because its used in jewellery they think it is there for some frivolous reason. It's not. It's the best metal for the job and has been for decades on your edge connectors, and card slots.

Great price usually direct from a seller the lowest price is about a £1 a metre for gold plated hdmi cables and optical cables. If some are branded that's not just a good deal that's a steal!

I heard that the gold plating turns your 1080p tv into a 4k tv. Bargain!
