Northcott? Could do with a couple of these. They have many left?
#2
Normally they'd expect over £10 for a HDMI cable in Tesco.. HOT
#3
There was at least 2 or 3 in the tray behind the ones I lifted. Should have counted how many were left.

I think I might scrape the gold off and weigh it in.

Yes they do, and it works.. ;)

Whether gold is better or not who knows. 50p with the possibility is bargainsville tennessee.
#9
Store-specific as per ?

Gold plated is better, its prevents the oxidation/corrosion of the connector. Its not worth paying a lot for - it doesn't cost a lot to do (literally a couple of pence), but it isn't just for show...

Possibly Store Specific if thats what you mean. Haven't been to any other Tesco's (3 in local area) today.
#12
Can I buy these and sell them to 'webuyanygold' for a profit?

Hmmm, I shall see in my local tescos to see if they have any left. Could come in handy if my current xbox 360 one breaks.
#13
Ordered gold plated from The Hut on Wednesday for £4.10, probably none in my local stores anyway but good find.
#14

There is a school that believes gold connectors are bad. Because the connectors on your TV .etc. are Nickel, the moisture in the air trapped between the gold plated cable and the nickel on the socket causes electrolysis that increases oxidation on the nickel connectors. Your school chemistry may come in handy at this point.

I don't care, never had a TV .etc break due to corrosion.

Which school is that then?

That is technically true, you only get the real benefit of gold coated cables if the thing you're connecting them to are also gold coated.
