Well you all know how it is, tennsi starts and everyone starts playing tennis,

Maybe not now but when summer hits most people like a game.

Have just seen this on MandM

Crazy price and sure the ebayers would pay much more than this for a top class piece of equipment.

Also you get Quidco on this purchse too.

better be quick with this one though i dont think they will have them for long.

Gav

Should say tennis not tennsi :)

I used to play a lot of tennis, I have nobody to play with any more :-( .

Anyone fancy a game, I am classed as morbidly obese so should be easy to beat :) .
#6

The must have taken an extra fiver off it this after noon cos this morning before i posted the deal it was sitting at £29.99

i bet my mate that i could beat him within a year, he is fairly good but rather large and slow.. maybe this is a sign that i should really think about taking the bet seriously!
#12

Hi - how can I tell which size is appropriate for a present for my husband? Is there a huge difference between a 3 and a 4? Neither of us are very good players, but he needs a racket and I'd like us to start playing again this summer!

How tall is he? Arm length shoulder to elbow + elbow wrist size is best to go by
#15
He's around 5-8 and I know that his arms are slightly shorter than average because he orders 34 1/2 inch shirt sleeve length. Is it the thickness of the grip that differs with the sizes or the length of the racket?
#16
I'd expect it's length.. 4 is going to give more reach (and seems to be the only size in for alot of their rackets inc this one) 3 will be better for someone with less experience as it'll be easier to control.
Easy enough to bulk out the handle if you go for a smaller size.
#17
ok - thanks! I might buy the wilson in the 3 and the head in the 4 and return the one that isn't right!
#18
damn, missed out on the size 4 in the head racquet, top top post though, voted hot.

And blokes think they have a hard time trying to guess a bra size.

Excellent link, thanks. Also check out other stuffs in there they are all good prices!!

Really narked - they phoned me today to say that the machine had rejected my card due to the name - even though there was no problem with it! However, they didn't hold my order and get the right card details from me - they CANCELLED my order and asked me if I wanted to reorder it. Needless to say, the head racket had now sold out. Sigh. Got the Wilson one instead - can someone verify that this is still a decent racket to give to my husband as a present to start playing tennis properly?
#22
its certainly going to be ok for a beginner, but if he has been playing for a while it may not be up to scratch, certainly ok for someone of a novice level though

Is It Not A Bit Cold For Tennis!
#24
lol...it will be summer soon enough!

although its a good piece of kit at a ok price i have one moan

m+m are not too good for equipment
take this example
http://www.mandmdirect.com/ProductDetail.asp?ProductCatalogue=CA40&QSI=a8ae717b-5c09-4afe-ba2d-a9f8463fb1ea
the RRP was £99 when it was released but now the RRP is around 29 pounds

the rackets are really old kit - i dont know about this tennis one - but squash and badminton are all badly marketed RRPS

Actually the original MRRP was £120 and though a little old, this is still a highly rated racket which retails for approx. £29 where available - there is no current RRP as it is discontinued. So at M&Ms £9.99 it is a total bargain.

Any recommendations on the badminton rackets? I don't mind an "old" bit of kit as long as its good and cheap! Would rather buy on recommendation that just going on the highest RRP reduced by the most LOL. Didn't want to spend more than £20-£30 as I'll probably buy one each for me and my husband. (can you guess that I'm cleaning out the racket cupboard and upgrading from the ones we've been bashing about with for years?!)

yonex mp23 is good enough for beginners. And it's cheaper than anywhere else.

I bought Karakal NTI 140 Squash Racket. just because it's cheap and the lightest one among them. And it has a full case.

I liked the look of the browning oxylite one which has about £200 off of it.

I checked on ebay and they are all alot cheaper buy it now from some companys.

They have teh £59.99 on on MandM For £39.99 and they seem to have all the same ones.

Cant remember the user id on ebay but im sure its something about raquets lol.

I would go on ebay and have a look as they seem to be about £10-£30 cheaper including delivery.

hope this helps.

To be honest, neither of us are beginners at badminton - I used to play relatively competatively as a child/young adult but neither of us are up to date on which brands are now reliable/good value as we've just been playing with our 15 year old rackets (LOL). I know that I bought top of the range then....but that was a long time ago.
#33
there is a carton one on there - i think its abou £20

that is a fine choice
#34
I just bought the Carlton for 9.99 - very happy. The iX1 arrived today - very nice, but the Wilson is pretty crappy. I prefer my old graphite slazenger! Sending the Wilson back and have ordered a 2 in the Head LM Radical as its now in stock and I'm in between a 2 and a 3 so reakon I'll bulk it out with a new grip.
