At time of posting xe.com converts the prices to be around £3.18-£4.79 depending on the game purchased.

It's fairly easy to make a US account (as well as a JP account for those who wish to make one) on a EU PS3 and one can add funds by buying a US Playstation network card.

One thing that you should take note is that recently Sony US ran a promotion to give "Flow" for free over PSN which was exclusive to US/Canada residents, they upheld this promotion by checking people's IP if they were geographically located in the US/Canada. People outside the US/Canada who persevered manage to get "Flow" by using a proxy.

If PSN US do plan on using this method to filter those who are outside of the US/Canada then use the proxy method - if Sony implement another method then... well this is why this is a heads up so it's up to you whether or not you want to try get some games at 50% off.

Comprehensive description. Well done.

Perhaps you would like to make recommendations of retailers where you can purchase US PlayStation Network cards. I have not purchased any myself, but I believe Renchi.com & VideoGamesPlus.com do sell the cards, although they make some considerable profit on the face value of the redeemable voucher funds.

PS. If you buy from the US PlayStation Store then when the items are available at a discounted price on the European Store the demand will not be as great & there may well be less incentive to make similar offers in the future.

BFN,

fp.

I've only bought a $20 PSN US network card from eBay for around £14 but only because I did not know of any alternative sources which could provide the redeem code by e-mail.
Wouldn't want to recommend only 1source for someone (hopefully) might know of an alternative.

In regards to buying things on the Playstation Network by one's own region I appreciate you highlighting that perspective for there is some truth to that in a business level.

One question which arises from this perspective is how many people exactly have multi-regional accounts on their Playstation 3 and, if they regularly purchase things outside their region store. Furthermore what is there to say people from the US are not doing the same thing, I would be surprised if (given there was a way) they didn't take advantage on the offer for "Flower" recently.

With that said I just wish Sony would apply their offers throughout the regions, that way notions of resentment (and perhaps more accurately put, jealously - PSN US have a better PS1 library, gave Rag Doll Kung Fu and Flow for free and had that New Year deal with various PSN games at 50%+ discount... I'm jealous!) wouldn't be present to influence people to make multi-regional accounts. Then again how would pricing work...?

Oh great, rep to you manutd08.
Now people have a choice however it looks like the promotion on the EU store is only limited to two of the games from the PSN US list :(
I still have a few dollers left on my US account however I would like to support the EU store so that hopefully more incentives+offers would be available in future...

Well, they could price everything up in dollars, pounds and euros. That would work
