Radio 1's Big Weekend

Welcome to the first email for Radio 1's Big Weekend. We've been very busy over the last few months putting together the event and it is almost time to tell you all about it.

Line-up announcement
We'll be telling you who is coming to Moor Park in Preston on Monday 30 April.

You will need to listen to Radio 1 from 7am until 9pm to get all the names. We are going to be announcing them during Chris Moyles, Jo Whiley, Scott Mills and Zane Lowe's show.

We'll also be updating them throughout the day on our new Radio 1's Big Weekend website.

Ticket Registration
Tickets for Radio 1's Big Weekend are free.

But there's only 7,500 pairs available each day. Last year 250,000 people applied for them.

On Thursday 24 April we'll be telling you how the ticket registration system will work this year.

We'll have all the details online but the main thing you need to know is registration will open at 8am on Monday 30 April and run for a week.

Check the Radio 1's Big Weekend website from Thursday for full instructions
Keep updated
We'll be sending you regular email updates from now but keep checking online for the latest.

The wait is almost over!

Registration will be open for a week
Ticket registration OPENS at 8am on Monday 30 April.

Ticket registration CLOSES at 8pm on Monday 7 May.

You will need to give us your name, email and a residential address that we can send the tickets to.

You can only enter once. Multiple entries will be discounted.

We'll email you on Wednesday 9 May to tell you if you have been successful or not. Tickets will then be mailed out by first class post.

Tickets are secure and traceable
Every ticket is securely printed with a unique barcode and the name and address of the person who received it.

If you've been selected but do not receive your tickets, we'll cancel the original ones and tell you how to get replacements.

Tickets will be scanned on the gate and any cancelled tickets will be rejected.

Not going to end up on flea bay then? :P

Don't risk buying tickets from other people
To apply for tickets, people need to accept a condition that says they will not resell the tickets. Sadly some people will still do this. Wherever possible we will invalidate these tickets.

Please be warned that the system we are running means people can invalidate their tickets and ask for replacements. If you buy tickets, you will have no way of knowing if they are valid.

Valid tickets for Radio 1's Big Weekend are free and are only available from Radio 1 or its partners. If you purchase tickets from any source, you run the risk that these tickets will have been cancelled and you will not be able to enter the site.

We may ask you for proof of identity, age or address on entry.

Go register for your chance at tickets now!!

Does anyone know if it's one application per person or per house? The site indicates per person, but I don't want to risk my brother applying also in case they cancel them both!!
