Just to let people know that there is a sale at Go Outdoors re Cycling gear. Friday for one day only.
50% off rrp - some good deals to be had, I know you need to spend a daft £5 on membership.
Not bothered about the voting system - this is for info purposes.
n.b. they also do 10% price match deal.

#3
Need to check this one out, thanks though!:D

Sounds promising. The Runners sale wasn't 50% off everything like it claimed to be. But it was still good. I wonder what will be in scope for this?
#5
Hmm this sounds interesting :) I've got tomorrow afternoon off work, might have to take a wander over there.

It's for selected items, I suppose?
Is it going to show me the deals without the membership?

Now if the 50% fishing sale finished midnight just gone, why have they still got it advertised on the main page and not started with the cycling goodness!!! :( grrr I missed out on the 50% climbing sale the other day, but Go Outdoors sale items do tend to be good deals generally, so this should be good :D

Cheers will check it out.

I notice that the Sealskinz Beanie is not in the cycling section online. I was instore on Thursday and picked one up from the cycling section and asked for price on Friday and was told rrp £23 so £11.50 which is good as cheapest I know is £17.50.

Also seen Saris Bones but the manufactuer site is rubbish re which bikes it fits. Might have to buy and try.

The Raleigh AIRlite road bikes look a really good price - AIRlite 100 for £250 and AIRlite 200 for £300.
#11
Retail prices on bikes are way inflated. Still good deals though.. better on racing than mountain. Agree the airlite prices are cracking. 100 can be found for 250 but only on ebay.

I am thinking about going for the DiamondBack Peak HD Bike or Claud Butler Cape Wrath (both hydraulic). The DiamondBack (RRP £449) is online as well as instore but the CB is in my local at RRP £489.

Anyone know if either of these are any good?
#13
I was also planning on getting the Park Tools Maintainance stand but it seems to have been removed from online list. That is naughty if true.
Ah, removed if out of stock. Did notice stock was low (i.e. 3) on most items. It's a race OR back to local store who will have three in.

I went in last night on the way home from work and was at the till trying to buy some bike lights. The girl looks and me like I'm a bit simple and says "Do you know there is a 50% off all cycling sale tomorrow?".
"Ah, no I didn't."
She was going to keep them back for me, but I'm not 100% sure I can get back over there today.
10/10 for customer service!
#15
Hah, the site cannot take the pressure:)
#16
Some good prices,Giro indicator £17.50 is a bargain I paid £28 on tuesday for it.Unfortunately at the moment site is unusable.
#17
Sites taken a complete Dump!
#18
What a con! Not ALL cycling gear is 50% off RRP. Camelbak is only 10% off.
#19
Must admit there were some great prices to be had, instore was the place to go. Camelbak is not cycling gear in two of the stores I will now use so I didn't try and get 50% off. I wanted two items that were clearly in cycling and after a brief discussion with manager I got the 50% off.
Camelbak is listed as cycle on website so I agree the term ALL just shouldn't be used.

I was considering getting this cycle rack LINK as it works out much cheaper than anywhere else. Fortunately I found some reviews on Amazon LINK before making the mistake of placing the order.

Seriously? there are two reviews there and you made a decision based on those? I have gone for the Saris Bones 3 after reading many reviews and queries on i.e. Evans Cycles. Not listed online but probably in store.

heat added - got shimano MT42 shoes for £35. way cheaper than elsewhere. Picked up an altura top as well

You really want to be sitting on a bike so instore should be the only option unless you tried it in the past - I found the stock levels online to be very poor. Local store had more stock than online! Weird site because item is removed from site if not in stock i.e. Park Tools Stand and Saris Bones Vanished.... Rung local store and come away with good deal.

all cycling clothes are either small or out of stock . Pathetic

That is why I gave a heads up last night! Ideally you should go in store OR have purchased this morning online. Plenty of warning.

Well I got some medium Polaris shorts (£12) no problem. They had a range of sizes. Also picked up a Diamondback Peak HD bike £225, Giro Indicator helmet £17.50, Night Vision 1 lights £16, Raleigh 2 stage switchable pump £6.50, puncture kit & tools £2.50, replacement inner tube £3, Xtradry front shockboard (£6.50) and rear dirtboard £6.50.

If any of that stuff is pathetic let me know and I'll take it back! As you may guess I just picked up stuff in store for a novice. Plenty of other people were finding stuff to buy too.
#28
Im still tempted but too many responses say Diamondback has followed many other brands in being crappy department store rubbish?!?! Im concerned as I'd rather spend a bit more now (say a Giant) than end up having to buy twice??! Any views... pref before 12pm (_;)

yes no stores near me and had to go to work , when i got home all sizes gone . Good heads up tho , wont give you any heat for the slight smugness of your reply

No problem.. heat doesn't turn me on as mentioned in op.

Instore was certainly the place to go and when they do future promos I will remember this. I placed an order online for Saris Bones (if no stock the website strangly removes item from listing!) of which there was two in stock. I have just had an email to say no stock AND it looks like they think that is the end of it. I was instore yesterday evening and there was 4 Saris Bones instore. Website is useless re removing items - you could think they didn't sell item BUT also fulfilment is very hit and miss.
