Just got back from Tesco. Bought 23 bottles with all the discounts as expected! Thx OP for the heads up and to everyone else for the helpful posts about the better picks.

FWIW I took a slightly different approach to many of you. Yes I bought quite a few of the Markview Heritage Shiraz & Chardonnay and Kumala Reserve Shiraz which are all quite drinkable and excellent value at £2.75 after discounts, but for me this was a fantastic opportunity to get some upmarket wines at a bargain price - especially for Xmas gifts.

All Tesco Finest wines are in the "Clubcard Boost" (double up) at the moment and many are already on offer. For anyone with some spare Clubcard points this is a great opportunity to get some good quality stuff for little cash outlay. Furthermore, in case folks don't already know you can actually "BUY" Clubcard points with TopCashBack cashback. Just link a Clubcard to your TCB account and you get the option to convert TCB payments into Clubcard points - and you get a 5% bonus (i.e. £1 of TCB will buy you 105 Clubcard points, which is worth £2.10 under double-up. If you buy Finest wines under this 25% wine discount then each TCB £1 is effectively buying you £2.80 of shelf price Finest wine! (NOTE though that if you buy Clubcard points in this way you have to wait for the next Tesco quarterly mailing before you can actually use the points, but given all the great ways to use Clubcard points this strikes me as an excellent way to maximise the value of TCB cashback).

Regardless of whether you use Clubcard/TCB there are some great Finest buys at the moment. For example the "Tesco Finest Rioja Reserva" is an International Wine Challenge Gold medal winner and arguably worth it's full list price of £9.99. It's on offer at £7.99, and with the 25% off costs £5.99 (that's just £3.00 in Clubcard points or £2.86 in TCB!). Others have mentioned the Douro, and there's a St Emilion that's probably worth a look too. Sure you aren't getting the triple discount (unless you go for the Finest St Mont, which is on 2 for £10) but these are some pretty good wines for very little outlay if you have the Clubcard points.

My23 bottles (including 13 Finest) sub-totaled at £181 and effectively cost me £20 in cash and £33.33 in TCB. Result!

edit: Have been trying the Douro tonight and whilst I wouldn't call it a "fine wine" it's excellent for £3.90 (after the 25%, and under £2 in Clubcard points).

Club card boost is only on finest wine.

I did see a £10 bottle at 2 for £9. Works out at £2 a bottle if it all works out like in the past.

If it's an online offer, it should be available in Scotland - I've never had an issue with this before.

You're right about Salmond though........

Is this online too?

All multibuys on wine have been removed from the website. I wonder if thats temporary of its its in preparation for this offer.
#17
apparently they have tightened up on deliveries of wine so that they cannot be included in any deals in Scotland. Do I drive to the nearest English store?? What is the largest store closest to Gretna green?
#18
Roll on Friday. Hot O.P. Thank you

Also got me a £5 off £30 on any wine voucher through the post the other day.. :) wahoo!

There's an Extra store in Carlisle a couple of junctions down the M6 from the border

Quick calculation on the 3 for £12 and if all goes to plan then £2.50 each. The offers online are valid until 3rd December so should be still active. Fingers crossed!

bet you still need more though ;0)

can anyone confirm it is just the multibuys that are usually good to do with the 25% not the reduced?
#26
I've just worked out the 2 for £10 ones now which work out (assuming you choose the £8.99 ones) at £2.75 a bottle. I do hope this works out!! Kumala Chenin Blanc and Shiraz for me I think. There's also a litre of sherry included in the 2 for £10 which is worth considering if that's your thing, may chuck one in to keep the mother in law happy!

How would your husband know what making love on a milk float is like? I'd change your milkman if I were you ;)

Any idea if the 2 for £10 offers will still apply on Friday? Or are they likely to get pulled before then?

We'll if it stacks again it'd be rude not to get another 6/12/18/24 bottles ;)

If it is like the other times, it will be a great find.

Good work, AddictWeb!

And remember everyone, a "bottle" isn't just the 75cl size to qualify for the "25% disc. off 6 bottles or more" - the little bottles (187ml size) also count as 1 bottle (i.e. 4 x 187ml plus 2 others qualify for the 25% discount). Simply pointing this out for anyone not wanting or able to buy 6 full sized but still wanting the 25% discount. (Hope this makes sense!)
