This isnt official so seems silly to compare to that price.

Still a good deal!

Can see his point though.
#3
I got a similar one from ebay and it works fine. HOT
#4
Good price but not official so you can't really compare it to the real one.
#5
I dunno, if it does the job just as well I think it's fair enough to make the comparison.

Has anyone tried one of these? How is the quality?

From the 2 reviews on DX..

Pros: -Its VERY CHEAP
-When it worked for me it worked like a charm
-Unlike the other reviewers, mine came with a foam anti wind piece.

Cons: -Mine stopped working after 1 week
-Feels flimsy
-Stopped working

And
Pros: volume control and mute switch, comfortable to wear, cheap, working like it should(good communication), build to last does not tend to break easily

Cons: little tighter on the head than the original headsets by M$. lower sound quality, doesnt always fit properly in the controller(but works anyway)

Is it still covered in the extended three year warranty, my boys was repaired free of charge by Microsoft

Cold mate... have gone through about 5 (not kidding!) of these! They break so easily, one of them arrived broken and the rest broke after time. I then made the investment of spending £5 for an official one (i managed to pick a new official one up for a fiver on ebay).

Edit - Someone even put in a review for it, stopped working. And it does, you are talking one minute and then no-one can hear you and then you have the hastle of buying a new one lol

do they work on pc?

Buy a new one from argos, swap the the two consoles and take the RRoD one back and say it's faulty.
you'll get full refund ! and a brand new 360 without having to wait for 6 weeks for microsoft to repair it just so that it would break again in a few more weeks.

I did that last week haha :w00t:

People like u are the reason why honest people pay more for goods.

MS do offer a 3 year RROD repair scheme like mentioned above - My sons last console got swapped for a new refurbished model in less than 2 weeks away.

Same here, mine only took 8 days to get to and from Germany, top notch service. No idea where the 6 week figure comes from!!!

I don't see that harming anyone really. Argos just get the money back from Microsoft anyway, so you're just cutting out the middle man. Just try not to look too guilty when you do it.

Same here, 8 days from collection to return. People doing the whole returns fraud thing really annoys me. It's very dishonest and greasy behavior IMO.

RROD is very easy to fix with the kits you can get from ebay.

Unless you have BGA reball/reflow equipment available to you, there is no permanent repair. As already mentioned, what you're talking about is a temporary fix.

If you've removed the warranty label, just fill out the returns form anyway - the absolute worst-case scenario is they take one look at the missing label and send it back to you. You're not breaking any laws by removing the label - it's a different matter entirely if you try to replace it and make it look like it's unopened.

Seems a bit risky since they may charge you to send it back

actually it is a temporary fix. most people doing those repairs have stopped now... its not worth it!

I would only recommend it if you have NO other option... if it does work you should get a few months out of it at most

Nope, they just send it back FoC. Someone I know had theirs sent back with a letter explaining why it wasn't repairable under warranty. Didn't pay anything either way!
#30
I bought a warranty sticker from my local computer shop, stuck it back on, sent it to M$ and they fixed it and even sent me a 1 month live card for my troubles.
#31
Not worth it. Since the real ones only a tenner then why settle for an inferrior item.

Your better to just pay for the real deal imo
#32
Cold from me, I trade in Xbox 360 games and accessories and these are awful! Great for a week, then the boom comes loose, and then eventually they just stop working.

Get an official one from CeX or eBay.
You can get an original xbox one from CeX for £2.00.. it wont have a microphone mute button, but if you can live without that then it's a steal!
#33
How the hell did this get so damn hot! It's cheap Chinese tat!! Cold from me.
