Tesco's normal price is good but they are £2 off when you buy three packs until end Dec. Free click and collect seems to work even to small Express stores, which could be fun if you plan to order a large quantity!

Cheaper to get some timber out of a local builders skip (ask the owner of the skip first). Usually free to collect, no clicking required.

For people that don't want to rummage around in a skip these are an excellent alternative

I use the Verdo briquettes from home bargains, same weight per pack and only £2.79, not tried the ones in this hot deal though.

I have tried a lot of heat logs including these, and I only use the verdo logs.

So I should stick with the Verdo ones then?

I agree with the sentiment, but I need low moisture content for my log burner, and have nowhere to season it.

Are you sure? HB website says 6 to a pack, they look the same as the Tesco ones, but you get 12 per pack at Tesco, which would make HB ones 46p and Tesco 36p per log.

The verdo logs are 10kg per pack as are the Tesco fire logs. As heat output is generally proportional to weight for similar fuels that makes the verdo logs cheaper.

I'm confused, on their website HB have packs of six and they look the same. Are they different packs in store? Or are they really twice as heavy per log? Not disbelieving you, just want to know as I'd happily cancel my Tesco order for cheaper ones.

Ok, I think you're right, it must be down to the density.

The Tesco ones are probably just half the size per log, I went by the weight in my original post as it was 10kg for Tesco and home bargains ones, for 10kg the home bargains logs were a cheaper deal by weight.
