Bought three heavy duty buckets in Asda at £1 each. Halfords sell near identical ones for £2.99 each.

Halfords equivalent at £2.99 here - I looked at both and they really are near enough identical!!!

B&Q do the same for 98p in black or 95p in orange.

I've seen these before in B&Q, but the Asda ones are a little sturdier, with thicker plastic. Anyways, my nearest B&Q is a fair trek, whereas Asda is 2 mins away, which is far handier. Just thought I'd point em out :)

48p in Tesco

The flimsy light weight ones were 48p in my Tesco at the weekend, but the heavy duty ones were £1.49 each.

95p in Wickes.......

Credit to everyone who listed other retailers with 3-5p less, but IMO what contributes to this deal is that for many people Asda is far more accessible, and probably somewhere they visit at least occasionally, rather than heading somewhere specifically for the goods. Just a thought anyway.

Stop being so defensive. Its a luke warm deal, and its evidently much cheaoer elsewhere. You cant say 'oh its at ASDA therefore its better than Wickes'?! thats madness

Look, if you class 3-5p as "much cheaper elsewhere" then I pity you.

I don't really like Asda, and think they're overpriced on MANY things, and at NO point did I ever say it's better than Wickes (or anywhere else).

A quid might be about as expected for a bucket, but given the convenience of grabbing one in Asda rather than making a trip to a builders yard etc, I reckon it was worth posting.

Absolutely. Not much point spending fuel driving somewhere to get a better 'bargain'.

Mate of mine regularly does 50/60/80/100 mile round-trips just to get a fiver off something. Just can't get him to see the daftness of it. Ah well.

Wonder why my quotes are showing up like that. Been happening all day.

The buckets in Focus are better than B&Qs any day, dunno about Asdas though

Getting colder...maube people arent buying into your 'convenience over price' theory. You must have more money than sense

Or not - on both counts.
