Make sure when you receive it, it's the right one. I received one of these and it was the wrong one... They sent me a second, it was the wrong one again. They let me keep it...as they didn't sell the one pictured. I saw their review that said this also... well it was free so can't complain too much.

If it doesn't come with the middle strut, it won't support what it claims.

I have a similar shelf from Homebase. Four actually. Was happy to pay £45 each for it. easiest shelves I ever assembled.

Don't for one minute think these can actually hold the weight quoted, unless spread very evenly and most along the metal edges.

Although I've no doubt the metal can physically support the weight, 6.2mm MDF starts to bend under a considerably lower weight - a couple of boxes of wall tiles in my case.

I've got several sets of these and around a quarter of the shelves have already bowed, some quite severely, luckily I move things around a lot and keep turning them over to compensate. If I could be bothered I'd probably put reinforcing around the shelves, but it's not a deal killer for what are pretty good shelves otherwise.

Personally I think the Lidl ones are slightly better smaller but galvanised finished and 2 for £25, bearing in mind a bag of cement these days weighs 25Kg so 2 bags of cement per shelf I doubt it really! but who would put 2 bags on a shelf only a "numpty" :|

Seem to be good quality, pretty easy to put together - worth having a rubber mallet plus some pliers to align any slightly wonky tabs (plus the crossbars need you to wrap the tabs round once in place which pliers help greatly with if you have fat fingers like me)

Another option is Domu - http://www.domu.co.uk/vonhaus-heavy-duty-steel-mdf-5-tier-racking-shelf-or-workbench-massive-875kg-capacity - £27.99, free shipping over £40 or £3.99 below :)

Am currently using as bookshelves and they seem to be pretty decent at holding the weight though possibly a bit soon to see if there's bowing - the crossbars do look to reduce that potential though?
