Great price. The game is good but not as good as I was hoping. It's more childish than I thought. The story doesn't flow very well, characters will jump to a conclusions and find things out that are not explained before hand, and the voice acting from the police/fbi is cheesy/over the top. I think it could also have been better if it cut out all the nonsense of some scenes like changing/feeding a baby, drying yourself after a shower, putting lipstick on... seriously proper rubbish tedious and boring at times. Makes you feel like a kid pretending to be an adult.

When you get to the best bits of the game they are great and exciting but they are unfortunatley too diluted between all the "lets pretend" nonsense you have to endure.

Haha I lent it from a friend, gave up after about an hour, bored with opening cupboards and stuff - good idea but too much mundane for my liking - its a game, i want action!!!!! If I wanted to open cupboards I would stroll to my kitchen - at least I win food when I open those!

Basically. Except it is a poorly acted, disjointed B-Movie

Even though its the Move Edition, can i safely assume that i can indeed use a normal controller too?
Don't want to look like a tool, playing detective in the front room.

I've been looking forward to this.

When I started playing this I thought it was terrible. However, once you've got through the initial induction part and the main story kicks off, I found this to be my favourite game of the generation and urge anyone to at least play until the point "your" son is kidnapped.

The game is like nothing this gen has so far offered. As for controls, you can use the normal controller or Move. I didn't like the Move controls so went back to the standard controller. I've just ordered the Move navigator controller (from Bee with 20% off ;)) so I'll give this game another try with Move once I've received it.

me too and its the only platinum ive ever gotten

I thought the game was really boring, but the previous poster was right - after the event in the park, the mystery finally kicks in, and all the stories start making sense. Then it's quite the thriller!
#26
good price, pity it is offered by the hut which has poor customer service - beware

Great game, fantastic plot - a real emotional rollercoaster that will have you guessing and on the edge of your seat until the very end.

Quite a bit of replay value as well as I'm replaying the game to get all of the trophies by seeing alternative endings, scenes, etc.

I bought the original edition which I then downloaded the Move update for when prompted. Haven't got Move so can't comment on what it is like to play with that, although the game itself was well worth getting.
#28
Just so you know, every version of this game is the Move edition.

If you buy the regular version you have to sit and wait for it to download a *massive* update that adds Move support. Even if you don't want it :S
#29
Finished this for the first time last night, really loved it, I really got into the story and the characters , most enjoyable game I've played, if you buy this just grit your teeth to get past the opening scene, once your out of the house you will be hooked.

good find, thx

Thanks for this.

does this work without move?

Yep, buttons, analogues and the occasional throwing of the sixaxis (not at the screen please).

Good attempt at something new, but to me it feels like a dramatized version of parappa the rapper. Surely a proper action or rpg game can be made with a similar way of seeing not only different endings but different set pieces mid game too.

If you search on google, some idiots thought they couldnt play it anymore with the controller after the move update and started the whole thing again. Option on the bottom of the main menu lets you switch.
#35
Awesome. Just saturday I went and paid £17 for this! :@

To answer the various Move questions.

The Playstation Move edition of Heavy Rain is exactly the same as the original game, but includes a patch for some of the bugs and includes support for the Playstation Move controller. You can still play it with a regular pad, or you can choose to play it with the Move controller - your choice.

Alternatively if you buy the regular edition of Heavy Rain (older copies or preowned), when you go to play it and are signed in to PSN you will be prompted to update the game to v2.0 - this will download the patches to the game AND download the support for Playstation Move controller.

This makes the original version of the game exactly the same as the Playstation Move edition, just you have to download the update rather than have it included on the disk. The patch is approx 1.2GB in size
#37
Patch size's on PS3 are ridiculous. oO
#38
It does have a slow start, there is quite a lengthy intro section before the main credits and lots of people who borrow from a friend or rent the game give up here. However this is only the beginning and once you get past this into the main story and action you will want to keep on playing to find out what happens next. It is quite a short story overall (only took me two nights play to finish) but each decision you make affects what happens next so you can replay certain sections several times to get different outcomes.

I don't have the Move controller, but the game makes you use the dualshock 3 in a similar fashion which makes you feel more like part of the game you are playing.

It also won 3 awards at the recent video game baftas. Award winning

I actually didn't like it. NOt as much as game as an interactive movie.

If you have been desperate for it though, can't argue with the price.
