Possibly an error, possibly done on purpose to grab more pre-orders and definitely not the cheapest price out there but if it isn't shipped early then you can always cancel it without being charged anyway as they don't charge until dispatch.

They did it last week with AVP and people did get them delivered early. I agree the price is definitely not hot, I pre-ordered it myself for £10 less but some people will want to try and get it early if possible so I posted it for their benefit.

At this price, I really will not take offence to people voting cold as it's a crap price IMO, especially when their biggest rival have been selling it for less for a long time but if there's a chance to get it early then some people will be willing to part with a couple of extra quid.

PS. I received an e-mail from HMV.com earlier today stating that the HMV Exclusive Special Edition version of the title is up another £2 today to £44.99 (from the original listed price of £39.99, then the recent rise to £42.99).

Visiting the product page online though still displays £42.99 (with a Recommended Retail Price of £54.99... even though it was set to the same price as the 'standard' edition when it was first listed).

You may wish to consider purchasing sooner rather than later in case the price is due to rise.

I'm going by what people have said on a few other forums, I didn't buy it personally since I've already bought Bio2 and Heavy Rain this month so my gaming budget has been maxed out. :)

Me too, I'm hoping mine will get delivered a couple of days early if possible as I will be away next weekend with the OH. :)

I actually saw a guy selling a promo copy on Ebay last weekend for £35 BIN. I should have bought it at the time, needless to say that it was snapped up by someone else fairly quickly. The promo copies on there are going for £60+ now.

I had heard of that origami paper folding free gift thing, it seems like quite a unique idea actually. :)

I think this is the first game that I have actually been excited about playing in a long time.

Yes I have it, I haven't finished it though.

I got it for Christmas and it's OK but although I think it's good, I don't find it to be anything all that special really *awaits torrent of abuse*.

No abuse here. I agree... although it is a great (single) game for many people I soon became bored & gave up with it. Not because it was difficult; but because I wasn't getting any enjoyment out of it. Mind you, I had fair warning. I played "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" even less! Even with the "engaging" story I was more taken by, say, the LucasArts SCUMM(tm) "point & click" adventures from 15 years ago.

The online multiplayer of "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves" was better for me, but it has been spoiled now by people who quit games before the end because they cannot be bothered to exercise patience & respect for those still playing.

Mind you, I'm not taken with "Heavy Rain" at all (see my comments in the thread I quoted above).

Bah humbug, etc.

Tempted to get this game. I loved shenmue 1 and 2 and this is similar in ways. Ive been closely following this game for ages as im sick of conventional game types, MW2 wasnt all that great. I mean it was technically good, both visually and had slick controls and high production values all round but the single player was to short and the story sucked, and tbh Im just growing out of FPS games these days.

But then again I find it hard to justify a full £39.99 for a game these days, I think Ill find a way though. I wouldnt mind finding a copy of Farenheit/Indigo Prophecy for Ps2 though and playing it first.

and as for Uncharted 2, it really is a master piece. It oozes qualiity at every level, beautiful original setting, story is reasonable but peters out near the end and the fact that you only get to spend a very small amount of time in shangrilar was disapointing, I really wanted to explore the place properley, and the final boss fight is cheap and so is the abrupt ending. Still a must have though.
