BLUE TOP £10.98
GREEN TOP £14.99
ROSE £14.95

All in Morrisons in Bolton 15th December

Please remember this is a post that is offering a decent quality champagne for just over a tenner. If you don't think it's worth buying then don't but please don't give your 'expert' opinion on its shortfalls as a true quality Champagne - I doubt anyone is in the slightest bit interested.
Rant amended as I was politely asked to do so ;-)

I thought the Tesco 2 for £25 was good but it can't get any better than this. Lovely stuff too! H&R

Opinions from "those in the know" seem to think it's pretty good for this price range.

However, if you were Morrisons wines and spirits manaNger, I'll bow to your superior opinion.

perhaps we should ask Sarah Miles - she should know which tastes best:thumbsup:

Apart from that I wouldn't worry about what djbarmy says - he seems to whinge about everything

I'm not a big champers drinker by any means but I've tried the cheapest and some of the most expensive. Price is no guarantee of quality but for £11, I think, this stuff is damn good.
#8
heat and rep - will try to get a bottle or two

lol so you were in charge of the booze isles?! what a ******.

this is a lovely champagne, not the best (although i'm no wines and spirits manager for morrisons that well known wine merchant) but for this price it's a smashing offer.
banned#10
Distinctly average at best case - but a good price for that.
#11
Looks like a great deal - although I don't think I can justify buying any more champagne after the £15 Taittinger from Asda and £15 Moet from Morrisons!
#12
Careful, drink too much of this and you'll make your heid sieck...

Research this week suggests that 2 glasses of champagne a day is good for your heart & circulation so get buying and drinking people :w00t:

Oh and lighten up OP, everyone is entitled to an opinion. Sounds like Djbarmy was on the wind up anyway

Yeah, I bought that as well - poop!

I'll just have to buy some more now - we get through gallons of the stuff at this time of year so it'll go anyway;-)

Jeez, blind taste champagnes and you'll be amazed what is rated "good" and what is rated "bad":p
#17
Grapes grown from the east side side of the region where the soil is distinctly substandard in "real' Champagne terms and sugar content lower than Southern and Western appellations. You get what you pay for, but with this you're paying well over the odds at half this price. Get a bottle of cheap white, put it through a soda stream and this is what you get. Sorry made all that up, couldn't resist. Good deal :-)

No, I wouldn't.

Just because you're happy with just getting wrecked on Lambrini and strawberry wine, don't put everybody in your boat.

Oh, and as I said, if you care to read, its a good deal for the price.

However, just out of spite, I'm voting this cold. As the OP is a child who needs to figure out where his caps lock key is, and stop being such a crying monkey fiddler.

I could easily mention that if you're just buying this for the sake of it being labeled 'Champagne', then you're a bit simple to be honest. I could easily mention you would easily enjoy a good bottle of Presecco or Cava much more than this average champagne. Either that or just buy a bottle of Lambrini and just print your own 'Champagne sur la Bognor Regis' label for it - you and your guests wouldn't have a clue anyway, right?

Failing that, just do what I do and keep an empty bottle of Vintage 98 Moet (that I once found in a hotel bin) in the fridge, and whenever guests come round fill it up from your 'Champagne de la cats ****' then pretend its the real deal.

Your guests will be so impressed at you drinking real "Connoisseurs" champagne, you'll have saved a fortune, you will be the envy of everyone on your council estate!

There, you can keep that tip for free. Don't tell anyone I told you though or the neighbours will never look at me the same again.

I don't drink and know nothing about champagne, but it'll be great for a few present opposed to the usual bottle of wine.

Shame its all sold out at my local morrisons :(

How many champagnes have you blind tasted this month then?

Do you taste on a regular basis or just read newspapers?

Are you a Master of Wine? - No, ?

Deal is hot, shameful abuse of caps is sub-zero. Can a mod edit the post please? It should provide additional details to a deal or advice on getting it not an uppercase rant.

I can see why some OP's lose their temper here.... people take the time to post a deal for the greater good - this is a reasonable champagne and has good online reviews not cat pee, not vinegar, not pop..... if you don't know this brand it is well worth £10.98 - Tesco charge £24.98 in my local store and if if was so bad it wouldnt be selling at such a price year after year. There is a reason Champagne sells at £24.98 and Lambrini sells at £2.99 and it isn't wine snobbery it is a sign of quality.

I got some on the 2 for £25 from Tesco along with the JD offer. Well done OP - best to ignore the ranters hard though it is..... people can vote hot or cold and ought vote on the offer not anything personal - champagne is a matter of taste anyway....

Heidsieck Monopole is a champagne house located in the Champagne region of France. It was founded in 1785 by Florens-Louis Heidsieck. Today, Hiedsieck is owned by the Vranken company (located in Epernay), who also have Pommery and Demoisielle in their portfolio. The champagne has a lot of pinot noir in the standard cuvée which makes it a little bit heavier in its style.

Good spot and well done for taking the time and effort to post up the deal. This is hotukdeals and this is where deals can be found not wine and champagne reviews.

I love the idea of filling up an old champers bottle, what a credit crunch beater.
#27
It's not the best in the world but for this price - it's great!

heat added.

however, i never worked in a wines and spirits department so know nothing at all. i did work in fresh food though so ask me anything about butter.

I've amended it just for you

Sorry but I'm just sick of people who haven't got a good to say about anything. The one doing the most moaning has almost a 1000 posts and, having read the last few pages of their most recent posts, have complained, put down or whinged about everything!

and seen as i hold wine tastings weekly, i taste the stuff all the time, and this is just cheap plonk, pop a label saying cham on a bottle of lieb and u would go crazy if it was a fiver..... GET A GRIP ! This price is about right for this cheap a$$ plonk

HELL yea!

Hmmm, what's that I am getting - the smell of soggy labradors drying in front of an open fire, old tobacco and more than a hint of bullsh!t.

Funny how as soon as there is a champagne offer on, everybody becomes a wine expert and tells us its all a load of rubbish.
#33
Thankyou to Davek for editing the main post, still credit goes to the OP for posting a good deal.

If I posted a deal for a movie at a very low price I would be quite annoyed at people posting to say it's a terrible movie and I know this because I have the following qualifications. At the end of the day you all have individual opinions, not facts. Film critics are highly regarded for their opinions (sometimes) due to being able to eloquently express why they think a film is good or bad, not for being an authority on what a good film must be. I happen to enjoy this champagne and I'm happy to spend £11 on it to have a nice night in with my girlfriend and a bottle of champagne - of course there's a huge mark up on it but the same is true for perfume and lots of other "luxury" items.

A lot of a luxury items value is directly because it is artificially expensive... I would be ashamed to give a bottle of Lambrini as an Xmas present but I would feel much better about giving the same present if it were a more prestigious label on the bottle. Anyway this wasn't meant to be a rant, more of an appeal to be more humble in your opinions and respectful towards others!

Does sound far fetched.....lol, but unfortunetly its all true, i was sent on the course when i was a trainee manager at asda, and ill be honest i did copy most of the ansers from the nerd who sat next to me :)...... but i still know a thing or 2 about wine, and the strangest thing of all............ cant stand the stuff, if i really needed to prove myself i do have the certificate in a frame as morrisons used it in store, but i can easily take it out.......... and then u have to apologise and create a thread saying what a tit u are? . deal? :P

How can you say that something tastes so bad and that it isn't worth drinking and then say that you don't even like the stuff? I'm sorry but that doesn't make sense to me. It's a pity the numerous courses you attended didn't throw a bit of grammar, punctuation and spelling in too - would have given your opinion a bit more credence.

Have you reviewed your posts? Most of them are whinges, put downs or general moans. However they do show that you do appear to have a very negative attitude to other people and their views.

Exactly how long have you been the Rosemount sales rep? Perhaps your dislike of wine combined with the fact that you are dealing with it is the reason behind your negative attitude?

Please don't call people 'tits' - you know, sticks and stones.
