Heineken beer in a cool 5 litre keg, good for Christmas parties. You DON'T need a beer tap to use this by the way.

But you DO need a big fridge to store it in!

Luckily I have one, and love this, been waiting for it to drop in price so I can get another few.
Heat n rep on its way.

is the beer in it? probably a daft question..

Hot Hot Hot

Heineken might not be the best beer in the world, but it's quite nice from the barrel.

Get buying!

You don't need a fridge at all this time of year. Just leave it outside or in the garage.

how many pints from 1 of these?

And a spoon, these come out as pints of froth rather than beer!!

Or the shed. Just don't stack boxes of beer. They get damp and fall over.

Purchased one on Sunday, chilling in the shed as we speak, I think Tesco are still charging around £12.50 for this and thats reduced down from £15!

Not a bad drop of fizzy stuff and certianly worth having a couple in for the holidays!

1 pint = 568ml so roughly 9 pints.

Cheers for this, hubby will be happy.

lol, i agree. these things are terrible as all they seem to deliver is pints of froth. i guess there's a technique to it, but alas it's not a technique in which i'm proficient!

surely you can get bottles or cans of beer for this price in asda at this time of year anyway?!
#17
Great deal, might stock up on about ten of these.

I have the wunderbar beer cooler which these go perfectly in.
#18
i agree with the froth situation!

drank so many of these in the opener festival in poland and majority of the pints you pour end up froth you have to wait 10 mins to settle!

fun to pull out at a party tho...

also good for hurling at bad acts on stage! :p
i couldn't get it near the "Duffy" stage! :D

At £2 per litre it's extremely overpriced beer. These kegs are always a rip off in this country.

Cracking beer and a great offer!

£1.14 a pint, so not bad compared to pub prices.

The Morrisons deal at 67p per pint of stella beats this deal hands down though.

A bit gimmicky if you ask me.
#23
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but once you start using it does it go flat if you don't drink it within a couple of days or does it keep it's fizz because it's in the keg? :?
#24
These are novelty beer items, tried it before and wasn't impressed. There is no value associated with buying 5litres of Heienken from the supermarket for £10. Try one before deciding to invest in 10.

However I don't think you can find the barrel cheaper elsewhere so heat added from me.

That's true, just pop it in the really big fridge that starts at your back door. Brrrrrr!

never needed to consider having to keep it.

There's definitely a knack to getting these to work. Bought one last year and once I 'turned it on' I couldn't get it to stop! Result - lots of shouting at kids to get glasses quick, with them bringing the smallest glasses they could find one at a time. Was very stressful watching them fill up and waiting for the next glass to arrive! A good laugh though, and as a bonus got to drink them all at once as they were all ready poured and waiting.

By the way does anyone know where you can get rid of the empties? Still have mine from last christmas!
#29
Is there any way to re-use the kegs?

You could end up with a free tea urn into the bargain :D
#30
Heineken is pish tho
i'm sure Becks had a similar offer on last year
#31
These things are a rip off 9 pints for £10?? You can get 12 pint cans for £8 from most supermarkets.. Thats not when they on offer either..
#32
Worth googling, there are loads of projects using them. A popular one is something like this - http://www.gadzooki.com/cool-stuff/20-watt-heineken-draught-keg-guitar-amplifier/

Empties are accepted at recycling sites AFAIK. Least-wise mine have been in the past, YMMV of course.

sure i read on it that it lasts for 30days??

If you have a beer tap, e.g. wunderbar cooler, this is a great deal.

Also I would like to see what pub sells heinken for near enough £1, thats because they don't its usually about £3.30 a pint of heineken, also they are about £5 for 4 cans, so this deal is fantastic.
#36
Great deal because:

1. It's a fun, novely item that makes you look cool when you take it to a party (shallow, but true)
2. It's my fave beer
#37
People with the frothing issue - it's probably because the are not chilled enough - if it is too warm, it will froth.
#38
I love Heineken. 8 of These used kegs were propping up my entertainment system last year! I now have a tv stand!

Got one from asda yesterday, now chilling in the fridge so it's perfect for friday night if I can wait that long
#39
Answer to a few questions

Beer is fresh for 30 days after dispensing the 1st pint

The reason people have had issues with froth is due to the fact that the beer is too warm. The keg needs to be chilled in a decent fridge for a minimum of 12 hours. Optimum pouring yemperature is 2 degrees

Mine have gone into the same recycle bin as tinnnies.
