It's really around 2 and a half full sized tins per jar. I wouldn't get through that many in 5 days, but it should be easy for a family of four.

Aw! I love beans....when the offer was on for 4 tins for 79p I bought 100 tins and they called the supervisor, after a few moments they allowed me to buy the trolley-load, but it was a bit dodgy. I also had a 24 pack of toilet rolls on top, and said it was for a science experiment. They sort of smiled a bit, but it could have been wind.

if we have a winter as cold as the previous one, the govt should force companies to subsidise beans instead of crappy energy saving lightbulbs

This sounds like a good idea never heard of a fridge pack before

I reckon you would get more than 5 days life out of an opened one of these.

i wish they would make smaller packs of things,i got a 8 pack of tortilla wraps other day, only me and GF eat them and it said once opened eat within 24 hours,it had a resealable pouch too, i mean come on,why make it reseal if it perishes n 24 hours and why not make a pack of 4,

we live in a throw food away world, companies making you buy more buy not enough life in the food to eat it all

i shouldnt have to buy everything and freeze it only to defrost it the next day, also some stuff says dont freeze but consume in 1-2 days but you can only buy them in large packs

shouldnt have to open somethin, freeze it,unfreeze it next day and so on,why not just a smaller pack, the food companies make people buy larger amounts and just throw stuff away all time,

A standard tin is 415g, so its not even two and a half tins. The supermarkets often do the tins on BOGOF or four for a £1. Personally I can't see the offer in this!

if you only eat half a tin per go then saves putting them in a tub for washing up, no tin opener needed etc
tbh i dont think much of deal either but it is convenient if you regularly use small amounts

if you only eat half a tin per go, then you're gonna end up chucking half of this away unless you eat beans 3 times a day lol

half a tin a go = 5 times = 1 per day or other combination

I somewhat agree with you but bulk packs save a lot of money. I hardly ever chuck any food away. My freezer saves me a small fortune as I just bulk buy and freeze most things. You'd be surprised what you can freeze (cheese, milk, tortillas etc).

fair enough, I read it as 3 day shelf life so my mistake

mind you, I couldnt eat beans every day for 5 days :)

personally, I think Branston beans are much tastier than heinz now and pay only £1 for 4 cans.
