Metals can react with food and acidic foods left in open tins (eg fridge) will strip tin and leech it into your food. Thus that lovely tinny metallic taste of pineapple from an open tin yum !

Tinned foods are heat treated at 250 °F for 3 minutes to prevent botulism - that will likely affect flavour. Not sure what the protocol is for this sort of container.

Furthermore metalware like cutlery sheds sheets of atoms in use - and I recall a taste test where gold came out the best!

On the other hand plastics containing Bisphenol A (BPA) - which mimics the female hormone estrogen - leech into foods. God knows what other chemicals seeps into our foods.

Also.. if you DON'T have a sweet tooth - always eat pink yoghurt with a blue spoon !

Glass is inert.

Well thanks, I found that pretty interesting! Especially at nearly 3am with two sick children.
Anyway, heat added.... Amazing what you end up reading due to hukd lol.

Yes they taste of plastic, makes the beans taste bitter.

Tinned beans all the way for me.

I have used this pack twice in the past , they get mould on the beans very soon after being opened and placed in the fridge , tried it the second time because I thought if was a flawed batch . . .
