Heinz Safe Cans - 99p each INSTORE at Home Bargains

These things are great, a neat and discreet place to hide small valuables, keys and cash.
Just hide it on the shelf among your other canned goods.

I always see them around the £4 price so when i spotted a shelfload for 99p each i thought it worth a post.

Why not just rinse out a normal can when you have eaten the contents?

never heard of spc baked beans

Just to point out that thieves *always* check cans these days, its normal to find the cans on the floor of the kitchen after a break in.

An unsubstantiated urban rumour me thinks.

Mr Burglar scum just want in and out ASAP. They are not going to start cooking breakfast !

Blasphemous

if you use a safety type can opener, the edges are very smooth, AND the lid fits back on

you must have the wrong type of opener

your one opens by cutting into the top

the safety ones cut into the side below the rim, and its blunt, and the lid fits back in

All this tin opener does is stop the lid being sharp. The tin itself then has a sharp edge doesn't it?

Oh and the tin opener costs £16.50 so you won't really save any money by buying this instead of the OP's bean tin safe which only costs 99p.

no, the tin edge is kinda not cut, and isnt sharp

yes, the link i posted was 16.50 (couldnt find much online) , I got a similar one in lidl for about 3 quid, and besides most people could probably use a new tin opener anyway

Poor Jason. Trying to do us hotukdealers a good turn and all he gets is the urine extracted mercilessly. All in good spirit mind. Fair enough, a cylindrical alloy hi tec security device might not be everyone's cuppa tea but for those of us who can't or dont want to prepare our own, then its got to be a bargain at 99p. Home Bargains happens to be my favourite pound style shop and i often wander round there on my lunchtime. Not spotted this though, which is just as well because I always seem to exit the store with loads of cr..., er.. items such as this.
Heat added.

Just don't do what someone I know did and keep the fake tin of Heinz alongside other jewellery boxes in the bedroom. Kind of defeats the point. :whistling:
#26
I was looking at one of these yesterday and they look so fake that they bring attention to themselves! Not worth 10p never mind 99p!!

My friend used one of these once when we were at uni he put his room key and wallet inside it when we were going for a night out. When we got back the can was on the floor with a note saying 'you're an idiot'...

It was a thief who could write in correct punctuated English, we really are in trouble

I say, burn the money, and bury the ashes, no-one will find it then
#31
For the money they are ok, but must warn you they have a ring pull top as a normal can does, and once you've accidentally pulled the lid off, it no longer serves its purpose!
#32
knowing my luck i would be robbed by a bunch of cowboys trying to recreate the farting scene in blazing saddles
#33
i put my money in mini cheddars tubs, costs around £1-£2 but i did get a free bag of mini cheddars with it. good size to put lots of cash in it.
#34
why not bank your money and keep the rest in your wallet/ purse?? Obviously I havnt got as much spare cash as all u lot lol

Seen it with my own eyes at my brothers house, told about at a friends. Checked with a copper I know and was told its quite common these days.

Remember for a thief this is their job!, just like a mechanic gets better at finding faults, they get better at finding cash. When these were new they worked, now they are in home bargains everyone knows about them.
