I get a half hour helicopter ride every day to work. 5 minutes is all you need, the novelty soon wears off!

The Concorde 'experience'?! This sounds like a complete waste of money. Sorry OP.

I've flown in Concorde, I doubt this experience will even come close.

Could have sworn concorde was grounded ,literally

For anyone sitting on the fence on this I bought it for my dad a few years back (going on a helicopter was on his bucket list) Apparently it was very good. There will be a group of about 6 passengers and the pilot will take you around and point out stuff on the ground. Based on my dads trip it will be up to half hour as well, not just 5 min as advertised. He really enjoyed it.

Also for anyone who is not sure due to the time of the helicopter trip - we have done a helicopter ride twice in Vegas up the strip and it lasted from entering the helicopter to exiting a total of around 15 minutes and was absolutely brilliant. The experience is amazing.

Here's one for people who just want the chopper ride. £65 and 3 locations in Scotland and 1 in Newcastle :)

clicky

so what exactly is a Concorde experience?
#20
much better use of the same money: go to iwm duxford and see not just the concorde but a lot more and take a 15 minute flight in their dragon rapide aircraft. you might even be able to throw in the train fare from scotland if you book on an offer and still come out ahead. you can buy the same scones at asda, i'm sure.

As much as aviation is generally expensive, I would say this is not a hot deal. 8 Miles in a helicopter will, as others said, last around 5 minutes -- of which most will be spent at low altitude/speed navigating the airfield (not much to see).

As for the concorde tour, it's not incredibly special. I've been to the Duxford one, and they don't let you even get deep into the flight deck. You literally just walk through and get off again. All of about 5 minutes of enjoyment again.

The museum itself is probably where you will find the most enjoyment, simply because it's not a quick floozy.

All in all, after travel you're spending £100+ for two attractions lasting around 10 minutes total. You'd be far better off booking yourself in at your local flying club for an hour's trial flight. Prices vary, but for the most part are between £150-250. For this you'll enjoy the experience for 6 times longer, and if you ask nicely they'll even let you fly the aircraft!

It is a shame an amazing british aircraft that is twice as fast as all other commercial aircraft is confined to a museum. Great buy - good spot.
