Good reduction and fab if you're buying something anyway, otherwise p&p is £3.99 as far as I can see.

Posted last week, mine arrived on Saturday. Some of them are hideous colours, but woth it for the ones I like!
#3
The ones posted last week were for six pairs for a quid. So different deal. I got 10 of them so 60 socks for a tenner. Nice socks

Am I the only person who is pig sick of all this HFH hype?!?!? Before anyone starts, I am NOT pulling down the work of the Armed Forces but lets face it, they are in effect volunteering to be shot at (its kind of in the job description). As far as Im concerned these people have been (unjustly) sent to fight an unwinable fight by a government who will not accept its responsibilities towards them when they are no longer of operational use. While ever we keep paying for their incompetance, the government will continue to shirk its responsibilities, such as the Air Ambulance, proven to SAVE lives.... funded by charity!!!!

Sorry for the rant, not meaning to offend any servicemen or families, its only my view but I feel strongly that charity is becoming nothing more than an additional tax nowadays.

Except that you have to pay tax whereas nobody forces you to give to charity. Besides it's not like they want your £1 for nothing, you're getting 3 pairs of socks. If you don't want new socks don't buy them but you don't need to turn a great deal into a slanging match.

I for one think this charity is fantastic and will definately be buying the socks!

Once again you are missing the point (another one unable/ unwilling to READ!!), my mistake, I thought I was in a forum with other adults, clearly I intervened in the annual "Political Correctness Conference". Bye bye.

I do hate Calum Best more than most "celebrities" but its nice to see him trying to do something good for a change.
Only size 4-7? is that the only range they come in?

Fair enough, soldiers do, to an extent, "volunteer to get shot at" but i think you'll find that the majority of the forces were in the service PRIOR to the Iraq/Afgan fiasco. These people "volunteer" to put their asses on the line for what they believed at the time to be a worthwhile cause (namely you're ungrateful ass). If they are injured they SHOULD be looked after and it SHOULD come out of taxes as it was our taxes that put them there in the first place. Whether Iraq/Afgan was justified or not (not, IMO) we still have troops there that see it as their duty to look after us so, therefore it is our duty to look after them.

I totally understand the annoyance but it should be directed purely at the government, not the troops. Rant over.

BTW 3 pairs of socks for a pound? Hot right? :)

Disagree with your theory on why they do it, I have mates in the forces and they all had their own reasons for joining, none for the record was, as you so graciously put it, was, "...to put their asses on the line for what they believed at the time to be a worthwhile cause (namely you're ungrateful ass)". Perhaps you could share YOUR research.... or was it yet another "thin air" statistic?!?!?

Im not ungrateful, in my opinion, the wars you quote are actually putting me in MORE danger then if we had just stayed out of it.... but thats neither relevant or a choice of the soldiers!!! What I find amazing is that you stilll cant see that you are in essence, agreeing with me!! You seem to want an argument but dont seem capable???? Perhaps we should just agree to disagree or would you prefer to disagree that that would be a bad idea??? (do you understand the sarcasm in that or shall I simplify it for you????) :p

Oh please do simplify it for us lowly mortals, toiling at the foot of your all might pedestal! The point on which we are in disagreement is that in your OP you gave the impression that you disagree with having a charity for those wounded from war, is that correct? Or was there any real point to it in the first place....

LOL you REALLY do need this simplified dont you. Look back at what I said:
As far as Im concerned these people have been (unjustly) sent to fight an unwinable fight by a government who will not accept its responsibilities towards them when they are no longer of operational use. While ever we keep paying for their incompetance, the government will continue to shirk its responsibilities THIS IMPLIES THAT TAX SHOULD COVER THE COST NOT CHARITY, I STAND BY THAT COMMENT!!!
Then look at what you said:
If they are injured they SHOULD be looked after and it SHOULD come out of taxes as it was our taxes that put them there in the first place. Whether Iraq/Afgan was justified or not (not, IMO) we still have troops there that see it as their duty to look after us so, therefore it is our duty to look after them. LOOK AT YOUR FIRST SENTENCE!!!

See any similarity????? Let me help you fella, WE'RE BOTH SAYING THE SAME THING!!!! You're not a lowly mortal, just short on common sense and perhaps the ability to READ before engaging fingers :p

Lets not buy poppys either? I dont agree with the ethos and financial structure of a lot of charities but I dont criticise them or those that give to them. Help for Heroes is a additional aid to the meagre assistance given to a lot of our injured forces by the Government. Dont like it, dont give to it! I will continue to support HFH and safe home all the forces whatever their reason for enlisting. The socks are great value and I have ordered some, heat added.

Bearing in mind the number of comments in disagreement with yours, would you mind keeping your 'I'm right and everyone else is stupid' offensive comments to yourself or confine them to a more suitable politically insensitive forum rather than one concerned with shopping deals?

Bearing in mind that this is a forum would you mind keeping your "I have the right to censor other peoples comments" irritating comments to yourself or confine them to a site based in a country that does not allow its subjects free speech?

I neither said I was right nor called antone stupid, someone else used that word, also, when I was at school, 4/200000 was not that great a sum, so get your facts right or wind your neck, theres a good chap!!

FFS its not about not wanting to give, Im in effect saying it should be MANDATORY i.e. paid via tax, is it that hard a theory to understand!??!?! You are guilty of reading what you think I've said instead of what I have ACTUALLY WRITTEN!!! All of the people negging my comments on this thread need to learn to read!! If I had said that I dont agree that the armed forces should be looked after I would have had 100000 earbashers. I haven't and wouldn't, my comment WHICH I STAND BY was that whilever WE pay for this sort of thing, our poxy government will continue to dodge its responsibilities..... END....OF!!! My view, my right, live with it or move to China!!! :)

Ok,so we`ll all just sit back and let them (Al Queda/Taliban) come and plant bombs on Planes, trains and buses or maybe fly a couple of jets into some buildings.
The government has done the right thing by taking the war to them,i personally don`t mind paying extra taxes if it prevents those fanatics coming over here and harming me or my family.

Socks ordered anyway.

My comments were not in reply to what you wrote. I can read and prehaps if you were more observant you would have seen that I did not quote you . I am not arrogant enough to demand that what I say has to be accepted and not paranoid enough to suspect everything written in a forum refers to my views. I wont move to China just because I may or may not disagree with anyone. I have my right to have my opinion.Perhaps your comment, quoted below, blinded others to your true feelings that we should be taxed more to pay for the relief that HFH provides.frakison - Sep 13, 2010 18:11Am I the only person who is pig sick of all this HFH hype?!?!?

OMFG!!!!! HOW MANY OTHER WAYS CAN I SAY IT BEFORE IT SINKS IN!!!

Dont care about you or your views, you are entitled to your views so am I.... so what are we wasting time yapping about it for?!?!?!?!? Move on shall we????

Hmmmmm.... you need to stop believing everything you are told by the media, they dont always tell the truth you know (remember, google is your friend!!!).

You show a real lack of knowledge and naivety on the subject and I suggest that you look things up first next time!! If you think you can win a war with might alone you are deluded. You will find that there are plenty of sympathisers IN THE UK and every other country, what will you "taking the war to them" entail exactly?!?!?

I`m not the one who is deluded,i think you are the type of person who would argue black is white...so whats the point?
But just carry on ranting,i would have thought by now that the fact nobody has agreed with what you are saying would sort of like tell you something...like for example YOU ARE WRONG AND NOBODY REALLY LIKES YOU!

Take the hint and go and spout your crap off somewhere else to people that really give a damn about what YOU believe.

LOL you make me chuckle. I can just see you sat there smacking each key in frustration over a forum thread.... quite sad really. Never mind, one day you might venture out of your bedroom and meet real people, perhaps even a girl!!!

I just keep thinking of Buzz Lightyear when he said "you are a sad, strange little man and you have my pity"... I wonder why??? :p

Not really...just realised i was right and you are wrong.

Married for 15 years with 4 children for your information, and by the way i work full time, own my own house outright and i don`t sponge from the state just before you start posting more crap.

You are a loser mate,i can see you now with your curly ginger hair and National health specs..picking away at your acne trying to think of some other pointless crap to say.

The fact is you don`t know me! But loads of members seem to know you as everyone on this thread apart from your boyfriend has slated you.

I won`t even come back to check this thread because (and in no particular order)

1/I don`t want to socialise with idiots who talk utter crap.
2/I have so many better things to do.
3/I am very proud to be British and very very proud to help British servicemen fighting for our security.

Could think of a lot more things to add to the above but i only come on here to search for deals...not to exchange banter with Dickheads.

Excuse my ignorance, but how does this "All proceeds go directly to Help for Heroes" work? Does the supplier pay this when retailers buy stock off the or is it taken from the sale price of the product? :{
