Yes I know it's apparently AF83 but I was looking for the £25 one which is expired. I was actually searching this site for that when I bumped into this new post. I needed the code for the boots above which I discovered an hour earlier :-D They are actually a classic pair of trail(ish) class of shoes (CMEVA mid layer) and indeed a good brand. Going from £65 to £90 in the shops and £55+P&P on ebay. Go for 'brown' boys

VANTAGE STRAP and others here too:

If breaking the £50 barrier on M&M may I suggest:

Great price for both a fashionable and quality brand.

Both bought.

Just so you all know, though I realise some of you will, M&M are currently very busy with sale stuff and may take ten days to deliver (this doesn't detract from this geat deal/find though) whch it states on ordering.

M&M are a great company for product and reliability.

Quick question for the hiking specialist.
Do you usually take boots a size up to allow for the thick walking socks or even for two socks?
#26
Darn missed the 10's so now only 7's left.

Thanks all the same!!

Depends on the person and shape of foot but generally you are correct. If it is a little larger you can pad with socks of varying thickness to suit. Also if doing many hours per day, 6 to 12, some feet begin to swell. but it depends on the person who'll learn in time. Most shoes breaks in too after a while. For beginners it's good to check the feet every few hours and if blisters are beginning to develop to put some duct tape on. Talcum power or better corn starch helps (also in the groin areas!). Carry one or two feet of duct tape wrapped around any object (pen, torch, wallet, discount card, ...) as it fixes almost all problems (punctures, breakage, emergency, etc.) for backpackers. Staying near civilization in England, an hour or two max, is a given, not so in other large countries. So generally a half size or one full size bigger shoes is not bad but best to try the shoes on in the shop, obviously not applying here. But as in most things experiment cautiously in steps & YMMV: Your Mileage May Vary.
