Numatic do make some nice vacuums for professionals, but this is their entry level "Homecare" one, HVR200A. Whilst many are used in offices, the word 'professional' is a bit inappropriate.

It's worth knowing that these basic cleaners are really bad at cleaning thicker pile domestic carpets unless you get the Turbo Henry with the powered beater brush (motor powered, not air powered).

Some people will swear their Henry works better than anything with the basic draggy cleaning head, but they don't. Use these for hard floors, commercial tight pile carpets and DIY mess, but for normal carpet work get the Turbo + powered head or another cleaner. I have one of these but I also have to have the proper upright for the carpets.

Cheers, thanks for the info... i'm thinking I should expire this then for being a bit carp... don't want others to suffer on my account...

Edit: changed from "professional" to "hard floor" to reflect the previous reviews

Most annoying vacuum cleaner ever made, don't know why people rave about them, moving it around is like driving a double decker bus around the living room with no arms. And don't get me started on stairs with a Henry.......I swear he sits at the top of the stairs just waiting to take me out at the opputune moment....

Well actually this is a very nice one. It is a professional vacum and is used in most car wash outlets, offices, houses, etc. We had one and it worked a treat from 2003 - until last month. It was pulled from the pipe, dragged, rigged, dropped but it never gave up. I give my vote to it. But i must say for this price i would spend £9 more and buy from Numatic directly, they offer a 2 year, home pickup and redeliver warranty and comes with a shopping bag and 5 replacement bags as standard, plus next day delivery.

No! Don't expire, it's not a carp cleaner, it's an excellent cleaner for what it is made for. And this is a good price too, it's been on here before in the £80+ price range without the free accessories. I gave heat for this!

I meant just to highlight that it doesn't do home carpets that well despite it being Numatics home range.

As somebody said, these do get used in offices and business. It's because they are as tough as nails and cheap to replace when they get nicked. But Numatic do make them as home cleaners and a quick look at their website under 'Homecare' show that they not intended as professional commercial cleaners. The pro ones are under 'Cleancare' on the website.

Note,
the ones usually seen in offices are the NRV200-22 Commercial dry vac.
The ones sold for home use are the Henry HVR200A dry vac.
(they look the same externally)

Numatic have upgraded all Henrys to 1200W recently, this one seems to be 1000W. Still good vac, good deal.

This looks like the old model, the newer version has Hi/Lo "economy" switch.
