Its a nice piece of kit to use as a controller, to replace using keyboard and mouse. The controller is quite strong, there is a bar here in Magalluf that have been using one for at least 5 years

The included software (virtual DJ 3) whilst a few years old, isn't bad, and works very good with the hardware.

This model doesn't include a soundcard, so for best results you'd want a multichannel sound card to go with it.

Would be ideal for DJing at a houseparty, however if you want to DJ to a higher level, you'd probably want a more professional solution.

If you have access to vinyl or CD decks, I would recommend you buy a decent soundcard, and find out about using timecoding. That way you can use your decks to control your pc

i'm guessing you can't plug headphones into this unit and cue tracks up by listening to a different track to the one that's playing over the speakers? ie. like a standard dj mixer setup?

It looks like you need the MK2 unit to monitor properly as it has a soundcard built in. With this one you need a multichannel soundcard in your PC.

Just a heads up guys, I looked at this on Micro Anvika a while back and my findings where that it is most probably not the one pictured - but the smaller 'wireless' one as they have herehttp://www.amazon.co.uk/Hercules-Mobile-MP3-Wireless-Mixer/dp/B000JGWDI2/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1246794976&sr=8-4

If you check the product codes they seem to match each other - still a great price though, just thought I'd mention it incase people get mislead.

As above the one pictured is not whats on offer here.

I had the misfortune to try the wireless one, it was a piece of crap. I took it back and got the one that is actually pictured which is great for mixing.

Not bad for the price, I had one (paid considerably more years back) but didn't like it that much - exchanged for (and still have) a Behringer BCD2000

ahhh the other christmas my uncle had actually just bought the one pictured originally (not the wireless one) and it was great fun! Have wanted one since but wont if its the wireless little one - only for me to muck arounf on anyway as im crap at mixing!!

Remember these are just control pads for the software.

You can download and use several DJ mixing software programs for free. Just use the keyboard instead of the posted device.
Try this one - its free and works with the posted device if you decide its worth buying one.
