If it's not another Tesco misprice, then it's a great deal. They also seem to have Lost Season 3 at the same price.
#3

There won't be any as was explained in the thread as the item itself is below £18 value. I received a package from DeepDiscount.com yesterday, only the value of the item with the 20% discount applied was listed on the customs form. The postage is not even displayed as it had a label just saying postage paid.

£31 for a complete series is a absolute bargain why would anyone import from god knows where to save 5 quid.

Or do you all shop at Lidl ?

It's actually £11 and I consider DeepDiscount to be more reliable than Tesco :p

People are so tight on this site
#21
got this on HD DVD for just over £30.
I think DVDs in general are overpriced now that HD DVDs and Blu-Ray are becoming more mainstream, it's like paying £12.99 for a video all over again lol
#22
I agree I just cant see the point of argueing over 4 quid lol

Not really - hd-dvds and blu ray wont be maintstream until late 2008 /2009

Dvds are expensive but its not like its a dead technology like vhs
#24
What a pointless statement lol

OK your are now added to my annoying people on hukd list
#26
Actually, at today's rates, and with the dvdtalk discount code valid until 25/11, you pay £19.83 all in including postage. Everyone else who have ever used deep discount seem to only have good things to say about them and the US is hardly god knows where, is it? Call me tight if you like, but that's a tenner I'd be happy to spend elsewhere!
#27
Can't get this through Tesco's grocery yet (ie use a Grocery code to get it)

Thats because this deal is with tesco entertainment a completely separate site

It's not a misprice... it's a half price offer they're doing on some boxsets;-)

Well if you were walking down your high street and Woolies had the same thing at £4 cheaper than WHSmith then you'd buy from Woolies... wouldn't you? Internet shopping is just the same surely.

and PS. You're not Gareth Coulson from Maryport are you? :)
#31
In the Deep Discount v Tesco debate... if it were for myself I wouldn't mind buying Region 1 but when it's for a present I'd only buy Region 2 and at £31.63 it's a steal... considering find-dvd have the cheapest deal as £37.99 coming from Hong Kong.... which I'm not keen on either for presents as although they're region 2 they're not always the British versions.
#32
Great price. Voted HOT!
#33
Yep, got the email myself and figured someone else would already have posted it. Was hoping someone would end up doing it for around £30 - the half-season box sets are £25!!!

I know

Just pointing out that sometimes these filter onto Tesco's groceries and as there are more codes for grocery than entertainment, it's often better to buy from Tesco's that way.

Just to throw my tuppence into the debate on region 1 vs region 2 I think that this is a no brainer. Region 1 films and tv series invariably are packaged better in digipacks which look the business with extra graphics and are robust rather than just cheap amaray cases bunched together in a piece of cardboard. I think many people are ignorant when it comes to buying from abroad believing that they'll be incompatability problems or credit card issues buying from sites that they have never heard of before etc etc. There are several reliable merchants who can ship items with customs fees prepaid and are almost always cheaper than buying the British equivalent.
Another reason to buy region 1 is that you'll often get more extras for your money which dont get licensed for release in region 2 territories. I have seen this happen time and time again. Also the vast majority of modern dvd players can play multi region dvds these days by simply typing in a code in your remote. It really couldn't be easier people.......:-D

I have to agree with you i got smallville season 1-4 region1 and they were all in these neat packs and then i get the region 2 boxset and its like some thin dvd case and cardboard - well worth £18 NOT
I do buy a lot of region 1 dvds but not boxsets as they are hard to import customs wise -- i buy off this site called caimen usa and i just got the film timecop for £2.89 plus £1.20 postage i mean thats just a bargain in itself
