I think the point is, while HD-DVD may be dead, alot of us paid £12.99 for Heroes season 1, which is at a cheap price on Blu-Ray for £34.95...therefore people saved £21 (almost) for I'm guessing exactly the same sound and picture quality, and with the money they saved from all the cheap HD-DVDS recently, they can purchase a blu-ray player when these drop in price, along with blu-rays, more fool you for being a one format pony, or is that donkey? who knows.

I wasn't doubting your buying ability, it was just a little play on the words you previously used, and to make out that the blu-rays are really expensive at the moment, obviously it went over your head a little, but when all you can think about is your love of blu-ray I guess this was bound to happen  - only messin' with you.

Yeah blu-rays are expensive....wait till after christmas...hopefully!

Never

Maybe they will when all the companies dump the format in favour of a superior format.

And one day BD will be dead.

When a book is out of print they do not close your local library.

You can still read yesterdays news, and the HD dvd's will still be watchable, in indistiguishable quality to that of BD dvd's

I have an old Beta Video player in my garage, doesen't mean anything though, Beta is still dead.

HD is dead technology and will NOT be backward compatible in any future player, therefore once your HD player dies so will all your HD will we not be viewable.

How on earth do you know it won't be backwards compatible on any player - do you have a crystal ball that can see into the future?? I think PC drives that can play HD and Blur-Ray will be around for a long time to come.

Well most people will just buy another. How many Standalone.XBOX 360, PC drives do you think were manufactured in 18 months, I have 2 XBOX360 drives and a pc drive so i think one may last the course.

Also my Heroes HD-DVD plays in 1080P what does the blu ray play in for that money, or sorry thats 1080P :roll:as well, not very good is it having the technology leader unable to display higher than a dead technology. True you can store more but how many extras do you really want to see on a film.
Also i can watch ANY HD-DVD as they are region free, you can't say that about BLU-RAY
