Combining comic book style and geeky in-jokes, HEROES is a stellar series that draws comparisons to fan favourites such as LOST and THE X-FILES. But thanks to its well-drawn characters and intricate plot, this drama reels in more than just superhero fans. HEROES revolves around the premise of seemingly ordinary people developing fantastic powers. There's Claire (Hayden Panettiere, ICE PRINCESS), a Texas cheerleader who can't be killed. Matt (Greg Grunberg, ALIAS) is a cop in Los Angeles who can read minds. New Yorker Peter (Milo Ventimiglia, GILMORE GIRLS) has the power to adopt other heroes' abilities, while his politician brother (Adrian Pasdar, JUDGING AMY) has a special power of his own. Though the show boasts many other characters, its secret weapon is Hiro (Masi Oka), a Japanese office worker who is delighted to discover he can move through space and time. But heroes wouldn't be heroes if there weren't villains and a coming apocalypse to fight. Features the complete first series.

Extraordinarily good price for an extraordinarily good series - don't forget to choose free delivery too:thumbsup:
#4
Easily worth that price
#5
Almost has me thinking of getting one of the cheap Toshiba players to watch it on!
#6
Must....resist! I sort of want it, but I only want it because it's cheap. I have to keep reminding myself that the subsequent series will be on Blu-ray. And that I might not actually sit down and watch it all again. :-D

But GREAT price.

WOW - Just ordered, with my discount came to £20.87 - Bargain!

Thanks OP.

they are only these prices because the format is dead, bluray win because it was 1) better and 2) had more support. Of course you won't see these prices on bluray - its a successful format

Just ordered mine. Curse you hotukdeals. p***ing money away like it's going out of fashion. Ordered the toshiba, the big pockets guitar and the heroes dvd in the space of a few days. Shhhh don't tell her indoors, it will give her an excuse to go our and buy lots of clothes!

This website is costing me an absolute fortune. Combine someone that loves a bargain with this website and you need to remortgage the house. Electric razor on Monday, chair on Tuesday, HD DVD player Wednesday and this boxset today. I'M OUT OF CONTROL!! My wife is gonna kill me.

Just one other point. Can those that keep saying Blu-Ray has won the battle please stop. I'm fairly confident even my five year old daughter knows by now. Please understand you are not a Guru with infinite knowledge by posting this each time a HD-DVD deal appears.

I have been like that since I joined over 2 years ago, it doesnt wear off, I have got to stop spending!! I have been saying that for far too long, I need therapy!
#16
Phil i have a kindred spirit! I too curse and worship hotukdeals in equal measure. The fiance is going to kill me, but I am bouyed by the fact if i had bought the HDDVD player the seven dvds and heroes at full price when they came out i would have paid about £700, so i have saved £610!

Plus all my mates will think i am loaded when they see all my kit (should i rephrase that....)!

I'll give ya it had more support but definately not better.....blu-ray has 1 benefit compared to HD DVD it can take 25gb on disc as HD DVD can only do 15gb......it has same quality picture and sound and also if anything HD DVD is region free where as blu-ray is region coded!! Hot deal good find!

Also the film companies are not gonna back a region free disk as they will lose money hense another reason why blu-ray won!
#18
The irony that the HD-DVD version of heroes is around half the price of the standard dvd version pn amazon. If the vested steakholders had spent all that money subsidising the cost of the discs in the the first place rather than on bribing the big hollywood studios, blue-ray would be weeping like a baby.

I'm talking like I give one. I have an HD-DVD player 7 films and heroes series one for only £10 more than the retail price of the SD-DVD version of heroes - yay!

Gotta love the blu fan boys.... define BETTER? If you mean better as in region locked, more expensive disks, more expensive players, then yeah, sure is better, for the retailers, certainly not for the consumer.

I must resist buying this, got a stack of discs already winging their way around the planet and umpteen more ordered.

The one I really want is Planet Earth cheap but they seem to be refusing to discount that one, unless anyone knows otherwise??

Someone posted it for £25 from Zavvi the other day - well worth it considering I paid £18 for standard version - will deffo pick it up at some stage and sel my standard set.

Wanted to join in - my fingers are itching to buy this set, shall I just click '1 click order'?
What a bargain!

Must resist - have added it to my Lovefilm list and edited all my titles from DVD to HDDVD, Yay! Just need my DVD player to arrive now!

Most BBC Blu Rays are region free, Blue Planet and Planet Earth are region unlocked so you might get it on import/ebay for a good price?
