Hi this is the first time i have done anything like this hope i have done it right.....i am looking for a netbook for my 9 yr old son saw this and thought it might be a good deal and if it isnt can someone give me advice on which netbook would be a good one thanks Claire

This netbook from HP has the latest operating system from Windows - Genuine Windows 7 Starter 32-bit, as well as an Intel Atom Processor N450 running at 1.66GHz and 1GB of memory, which can be upgraded to 2GB. In short, plenty of memory for day to day tasks, and a 10" screen.

The internal hard drive has 250GB of storage, and if you need more use one of the 3 USB ports or the 5-in-1 card reader to plug in extra storage. It has several built-in media devices - a webcam, microphone and speakers, and with a 93% full size keyboard it's all easy to use.

There's an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 card with up to 256MB available for graphics memory and there's built-in Bluetooth wireless networking capability. A selection of trial software is also included.

I think your son will be very disappointed with this netbook. The screen is too small for working and he will probably want to play some games as well. I'd go for at least 15" screen and dual core processor with 2-3gb ram and windows 7 premium. You could get that for another £50.
Just because he is small doesn't mean he needs a small notebook :)

You are making assumptions about its use there - but cold anyway as it's a poor price for this machine.
