Sixth bullet point down.

£20 for a "portable" printer, outstanding!

The replacement cartridges will probably COST MORE than the printer. It is a DISGRACE how people are getting RIPPED OFF with ink costs.
#7
Good, but its probably better to pay about 10 quid more and get printer with scanner and copier.
#8
Good price ,but talk about a throw away commodity, this must be it with the price of replacement ink cartridges !.
Not very good for your local landfill site as there made nearly out off 100% plastic.
ps, Heat added.

Nothing new there. This has long been the business model for selling home printers - sell'em cheap and make your money on the ink cartridges.

Exactly the same as selling mobiles way below their cost (or giving them away) and making your profits from the monthly contract payments.

Not really that SURPRISING then.

I think the point is, if you know how much the original ink costs to replace, then this printer is a throwaway item. Although I will likely sell the carcass on the Bay of e, when I've used all the ink.

The manufacturers are hoping you think, WOW, that's a good deal and then people just resign themselves to the fact the ink has a costly stink about it, thereby recouping their initial loss and opening up a much more profitable longer term revenue stream!

And I read in the description on Amazon, that the printer is made from 40% recycled plastic, presumably from his scrapped brothers and sisters!!

shock horror!

printers sold for peanuts while ink costs a fortune???

I can't believe it!

Gillette could learn a thing or two from these rascals!
