You don't add the price of a Costco card to everything listed from Costco. Nor do you add the cost of starting a business to every deal listed from Marko. You also dont at the cost of petrol in for deals in Argos, amd Maplin, etc when its something you drive to pick up.

I estimate I have bought about 40 - 50 items at GoOutdoors with my current card (which still has about a month left to run) - so would that mean adding 8p to each price?

There is always some plonker complains that the price of the card should be added to every deal listed.

Invariably these plonkers have never actually posted deals. :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:

No, but nor do I post items likely to mislead people, nor do I fill the pages with "2p off a single tin of dog food at my local corner shop" type deals making it harder to get through the increasing level of "Deals"

The same argument DOES apply to Costco, and I have made it - in fact it is even more specifically a problem as it costs more, and there are so few stores too!
Makro is charge free, but not fully available to everyone so that's not quite the same

Invariably you buy one item from Go Outdoors, then don't bother again.... once you realise the prices are not quite the deals they seem, well, not the ones they still have any level of stock when you get there, anyway!

Quite what you are finding to buy there on such a wide scale is a mystery to me, as I had a card ONCE & bought one caravanning item, and all that results in is being tormented by junk mail for YEARS after :-(

Re Coventry:- sent, rather than born there?

How knowledgeable of you to know "Invariably you buy one item from Go Outdoors, then don't bother again" - and "The same argument DOES apply to Costo" - yet both these shops seem to thrive.

Also regarding...

nor do I fill the pages with "2p off a single tin of dog food at my local corner shop" type deals making it harder to get through the increasing level of "Deals"

For once you said something entirely true - although its due to your never having posted any deals at all...

Never claimed I did post deals..... there are those good at finding them, those that are not, likewise there are those that are full of knowledge on various subjects, and those that are not - and as you will see I am not short of Rep for the knowledge I pass on... it seems to work pretty well, and I am not the only person on here in that category either. If it's "deals" you want me to post, well I can post lots of stuff that will go nowhere and clog the site up, now that would be dead handy for everyone!

So, now we have established that, is anyone up for the 2p off a tin of dog food from my local corner shop then, or shall we leave it the way it is? I think it works better this way.

I do find it a little tedious how over-sensitive to the temperature of deals some posters are though. The protestations get a bit predictable. It isn't anything vaguely personal, from me or most other people either if a deal runs cold. If it WAS a personal issue I just wouldn't say anything and vote it cold, like 99% of other people who vote stuff cold do!
So there, now YOU behave too. :p

Indeed Costco and GoOutdoors thrive... as do a host of other companies, some of which are the most premium priced retailers out there, so a thriving company is no illustration of their bargain pricing, or much else related to this site for that matter - but I doubt many retailers do a roaring trade in most profitable sales from the likes of some the people who inhabit these pages! Far too clued up to be the providers of the biggest margins, I would suspect

I was rather under the impression that a lot of stuff most of us buy is as lowly priced as it exists at; and as for being selective shoppers, you haven't met me, so you haven't met a real good one yet! :whistling:

I don't think ANY of the retailers would like the likes of ME as their only type of customer, I am far too fickle and do far too much research to enable me to stretch my limited resources into being able to buy what I WANT rather than just what I need, and don't willingly line the coffers of company's shareholders unnecessarily more than I need to!

AS usual, WE, have bored everyone to death, if in fact there is anyone reading it to BE bored in the first place!

Above you state...

there are those good at finding them, those that are not, likewise there are those that are full of knowledge on various subjects, and those that are not - and as you will see I am not short of Rep for the knowledge I pass on...

We both appear on the 3rd page when members are sorted into their number of posts.

http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/memberlist.php?do=getall&pp=84&order=desc&sort=posts&page=3

I appear on the 3rd page when sorted for rep...

http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/memberlist.php?do=getall&pp=84&order=desc&sort=reputation&page=3

...you appear on the tenth page sorted for rep...

http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/memberlist.php?do=getall&pp=84&order=desc&sort=reputation&page=10

Hopefully you can now understand why I often reply to you with "zzzzzzzzzzzzz", which is also reflected in the above statistics.

So your claim "as you will see I am not short of Rep for the knowledge I pass on..." does not seem to be reflected from the above statistics. You have the second highest number of posts on that page, making your comments the second least respected from over 80 posters on the page by a pretty massive margin.

This would obviously reflect in the value of the "knowledge you pass on", which for some reason you were under the misapprehension was an admirable statistic. :whistling: :whistling:

Now behave or at least try posting a deal.

If you post something interesting you may eventually manage to improve on your third page/tenth page disparity.

Although clearly you are so deluded by your own "knowledge you pass on" that I doubt you will manage.

I think I have spent enough time showing you why I find you boring - and for any future tedious posts I will link you back to this post.

Try for something interesting, eh? :whistling:

Stick to the deal please, there is no need to get personal or posting private rep for all to see.

I vote we have a sad sods corner where people with nothing better to do than post the type of rubbish seen below can indulge their inability to say anything constructive in their own private little world without bothering the real people.
