Just brought this, bargin tent in my opinion.

Hi Gear Kalahari 10 Family Tunnel Tent:
Hi Gear's Kalahari 10 is a spacious and stable tunnel-style tent that's packed with features and versatility for a stress-free camping experience.

It's pre-attached high-visibility guylines, slick pole sleeves, and welded polyethylene groundsheet make pitching the tent a quick and easy affair.

The living space is a generous 10m², and the bedrooms comfortably sleep five at each end of the tent, in a 2+3 inner arrangement with breathable inner walls.

The sewn-in groundsheet combined with the fire-retardant polyester flysheet (with 3000mm hydrostatic head) give you a fully sealed and ventilated internal environment, so you'll be completely protected from draughts and even the heaviest sustained downpours.

The large living space has two 'privacy' windows and hanging storage pockets to help keep it tidy and liveable.

The two doors can be propped and extended out to use as a canopy, using the steel porch poles, giving you shelter from rain or stretching the space out for more room if it's sunny.

Other features include water-repellent zips, an electrical cable access point, and multiple ventilation points along the roof line.

Easy to pitch, generously spaced and comfortable to live in, the Kalahari 10 is a great choice for families or groups who need convenience and quality wherever they're going.

Nice tent and good price but far too big for your average camping trip as most sites would not accept such a massive tent.

i am thinking about buying this, i just had my first camping trip last weekend, and mine was the inferior of tents compared to all these poly tunnel things that were around, i vowed i would have one : )

Rail

I Joined the cavavan and camping club which say's the pitch size was alot bigger than this tent, can not recall the size they said.
If you are unsure ring a few sites up to see what they say.
This is a great sized tent and I can not wait to try it out

Hi

Was in GoOutdoors on Monday and was also interested in this but I have to agree it was big. The Zenobia 6 is 149.00 but smaller don't think either tent would be too big for sites. Still not made my mind up.

Purchase any tent at GoOutdoors on 9th July between 6pm - 8pm get 15% off with coupon in Mailer.

Hi - check out www.ukcampsite.co.uk , great for information on camping and equipment. Click here for a direct link to your tent and a couple of reviews. Looking at the technical specifications this should be a great tent. Coleman are one of the many leading big brand tent manufactures. The original retail of price of the tent was around £350. However, it looks like the tent is a discontinued 2008 model (but no real problem with that). Enjoy your camping trip!

Huge tent and a bit of a bargain for the size

Strange they give the hydrostatic head rating for the flysheet but not the groundsheet!

Very good protection from rain but don't use it if the ground is damp??
#11
I think you should get this on most camp sites without too much difficulty. Mine is 7.1m x 8.5m and admittedly I have had a couple of sites say it was too big, but have used it many times. Well worth checking before you go though! Most sites have pitch sizes (or max. tent size) on their web sites.

Happy camping!

This tent is the same as the Gelert Meridian tent we have a gelert alaska wich also is quite a large tent and we have had no problems on campsites with it at all.

The campsites say the tunnel style tents are easier for pitching than the ones with pods as the pods take length as well as width or thats what i was told when I have booked ours in.

We are also considering this tent at that price it is a bargain and has a sew in groundsheet

lol stress free? Not when you try and erect it the first time.

As above poster says it is same as Gelert Meridian 10. Most if not all Go Outdoors HiGear stuff is made by Gelert and rebadged.

I have the Gelert version of the tent and it is excellent. You can get accessories like a porch/carpet etc, but the HiGear is a different colour so they won't match so well.

Don't believe the price reduction by the way, I bought the Gelert for £189 a few months ago and though that was the best price I found, no one was selling it for more than £229. £500 is fairytale!!

Edit - oohps, just checked, I actually paid £289 so this is a good price. Gelert version is in their Beyond range so maybe it is better quality (thats what I am going to tell myself now I have seen I could have saved £100!!!!)

I too bought a huge tent a few years. Itwas adome tent which was so big i could of dove my car into the communal area! it was agreat tent for when the weather was wet as the ids could play inside .
Downnside - it weighed a tonne , toook ages to put up and take down.
Itwould be excellent for staying a week or so at a site but as i was usiing it for either weekends or overnight stops it was too much hassle
