Be careful. Holinday Inn Express Hot Breakfasts are fairly new. They also don't have that much seating as they weren't built with that many people paying for breakfasts in mind. Therefore they allow people to take breakfast to people's rooms. This gets abused. A lot of the time, the hot breakfast runs out by 8:30am even though they serve until 10:30am.
I stay in them a lot and yet I've never experienced this before personally

It's possible that it was one of the busiest weekends of the year or that the Gloucester hotel we stayed at had only been doing hot breakfasts for a few months.

Nevertheless, we weren't happy about it.

Still, everything else was great.

went to holiday inn express 2 weeks ago...paid £24.99 per room per night with breakfast. Had a family room. Was very happy with breakfast and stay.

I don't think the breakfast is at all relevant in this! 'Oh it was a horrible break, we paid £50 per room in Malaga and the breakfast had run out - everyone was running upstairs with their breakfast' - DOUBT IT!

I stay regularly at a few different HI Express hotels in London, and this has never happened to me, which hotel did this happen at? (So i can avoid!). The breakfast is always included in the room price. Just make sure you know what your expecting though.. a 4 Star Hotel breakfast it certainly is not. Acceptable enough though, just a shame the machine coffee is dog awful.

Had an excellent time and my card was only charged once, for £66.50.
Happy Days. Many Many Thanks OP. :)
As above, great deal...we went last Wednesday 7th April, ordered an extra day's entry with Tesco Clubcard so had 2 days entry. Drayton Manor was excellent, weather good and not too many people even with it being Easter holidays. The kids loved it better that Eurodisney so RESULT!! Thanks OP for finding deal.

On checking into hotel I said I bet you've had a lot of these bookings and what a great deal it was, and she confirmed that it had been a pricing error. 10 out of 10 for Holiday Inn Express for honouring our bookings. I'm sure some other companies would have cancelled them all.

This deal was a schorchio!

I can also echo the above comments, thanks to the OP for finding this. It was a great deal. We went on Saturday morning (3 of us), picked our tickets up from reception, had a great day at DM, and back late in the afternoon. Weather was great too, and no queues!!

Wasn't sure about the double card swipe myself, but seem to remember the same thing happening when I stayed in the Holiday Inn's Staybridge Suites last year. Think one swipe is an authorisation, the other is the payment.
Ok.....Ive booked and done this. This is a top deal. On arrival we noticed the 'Room Rate Notice' situated behind receptionist as we checked in and immediately wondered if we really did have this right. It stated Room rate on the wall behind the receptionist as we checked in, as being £115 per night. OMG:? Have we paid a deposit only? Had to check in using the credit card but had already produced these details online when we booked. Asked why and was told its purely for authorisation purposes. Mmmm? Confused.
On receiving our Drayton package deal tickets we were made to accept a ticket for our 2yr old that stated 'for under 4 yrs'. Shame that, as we thought we could have got our 2yr old in for free anyway as under 4's are free. We was informed that we had to have this as Drayton were a bit funny about tickets and would need the right allocation for ages as under 4's were not automatically let in for free without tickets. I dont know if we had been had Re this, but when going into Drayton (and it was quiet) they swiped us in that quick, I dont think they even noticed how many of us they were in our party.
The tickets are valid until Oct 2010 as stated on the ticket and are for ages 4-59yrs. So if we had got the tickets we had paid for, we would have had spare ticket to use again for use as an adult.
Cant complain though still great value for money.
On checking out I had to have my credit card swiped again and wondered why. Again we were told for 'authorisation purposes only.
Hope I dont get charged the £59 three times. Id be gutted. Questioned it again and was told that its normal procedure. If there is anything further to report Re this then all will be informed in due course once I have checked my CC bill.
Fingers crossed everything will be as expected (charged 59 only the once) and I can sleep at night safe in the knowledge that we have just completed what was.......a fantastic, value for money deal. We had a ball. Once again, thanks OP for the information. WS
PS Hope this helps anyone who jumped on this deal and is about to go.

Just double checked my confirmation and it states my name under guest name and then where is says Additional Guests it says No additional guests.
But email confirmation does clearly say for 2 adults and 2 children. So i will be printing it off before i leave, as proof.
Where are you booked in to stay?

Lichfield, my e-mail says exactly the same, they were just trying it on, but I wasn't having any of it. ;-) I will take printed e-mail with me & will phone day before I set off because it's 2hrs away. They haven't taken money out yet.

I'm a bit confused!

I'm trying to book a 2 for 1 room for 2 nights in August, the price says £38 a night, when I view average rates it shows the £38 price for both nights?

Am I missing something???

What you'll find is the standard rate for 1 night will be £76, but they show it as £38 per night. When I booked Edinburgh the standard price was £79, but using the offer it showed up as £39.50 per night, so I still only paid £79 for 2 nights, but can be a bit confusing.

I paid £145 for myself and hubby for 2 nights (fri - sun)

Cold - Joined Priority Club last year but they fail to track properly and never respond to requests for information. Telephoning you get an overseas call centre who haven't a clue. A con, I think.

agreed, had so many agruments with them about this..still owed 10 of 1000's of points and they lie alot too. Anyway have over 100K points now and have been offered room upgrades....the guaranteed room 72hrs before is a joke tho.....std room in crowne plaza in brum for £350? er,no thanks!
aerotec;4914093
Note that the offer is that they TOP THE ACCOUNT up to 25000 points so if you stay and have 20000 points in your account you only get 5000 to top it up to enough for a free night.

just a note to add - yes if you earn 20000 points during the promotion period, your top up would only be 5000 points. BUT - if you had 20000 points before the promotion period started, those do not count towards your bonus 25000. So come June 15 when your promotional points are added to your account - you will have 45000 points.
mrcoxexcel;4924592
Odd - seemed to be overseas - on one occasion an American, on another an Indian.

you are correct about the American - I've had that once too. So I guess it routes you around the world depending on open office hours. Which I don't mind with hotels, but it sucks when it's your mobile phone contract and they go all out to try and sell you something without letting you get a word in.
Lam;4910605
have been a Priority Club member for 4 years - points have always tracked - collected enough points to stay in Las Vegas Holiday Inn Express for a week for free - including there famous breakfast.
So this deal for Priority members is HOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ps: mrcoxexcel - the call centre is in the UK

I was after a room for October in Birmingham. Your link gave me 3 hotels to chose from. Cheapest holiday inn was £49 total for two of us. 2nd best was Crowne Plaza, much more swanky, at £69. Went through Quidco (5%) to reduce a bit and was offered the same room, still inclusive of breakfast for 50 QUID!! BARGAIN!
the cheapest i could get is around £64

Its an offer thats always on, Holiday Inn just change the name of it every quarter but basically its always a "leisure break" rate which isnt very often available in some hotels. Still worth checking whether it is tho before booking elsewhere and because of the quidco

Well worth signing up. I only signed up to the Priority Club not to let the points go to waste originally when I stayed in the holiday inn a few times with work. They always have points promotions on and with a few stays a year earning and buying some points then booking pointsbreaks (5,000 points instead of usual 25,000 a night at changeable hotels around the world), I have had trips to New York, Kathmandu and Delhi where I've only paid for flights. I'm certainly not a business user of these hotels and it's still worth it as an occasional stayer.
We have enough points to stay in America for a week, we have already redeemed loads this year in the UK
Wil have to remember this - stay away alot for work, forgot about their loyalty cards
Their loyalty scheme is, however, very generous for those who do stay regularly. I've staying 3 nights a week in an Express by Holiday Inn and have booked 6 nights in a $400 pn hotel (Key West) and 6 nights in a £170 Edinburgh hotel for free!

For loyalty card holders, they are doing a double points offer on all spends between now and 15 December. Keep 'em coming!!
Hmm, misleading title... you can't stay at *any* hotel to get the points, it has to be a Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn or Express by Holiday Inn in the UK...

Plus you can't use your free points at *any* hotel.. it has to be a Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn or Express by Holiday Inn worldwide.

After reading about item 8 in the terms and conditions I rang the helpline and asked exactly what did that mean. I was told that it related to inter-continental hotel bookings. I asked would these vouchers be accepted at theme parks etc in the UK and was assured that they would be honoured. Just though I would clear that up.

What to do is click the pigsback link, so its registered that you have clicked through on that particular day etc, then just book the hotel through the other link, then send in your receipt to pigsback after your stay - youll still get your points, this has worked with me before.
That way you should get points and play voucher anyways
Hope that made sense.

Sounds like a plan....
