Got them! Next day delivery, and their delivery company sent me a text to tell me which hour in the day 'Tim', the driver was going to be at my house. Opened them up and they're absolutely mint, even smell brand new. Buying a pair for my mum as a Christmas present! Wish I could add more than one 'Heat', this really is a bargain
Looks like a good deal. buying a pair now, will return when I get them and comment on the condition and add heat/cold if required.
These look to be properly refurbed by Bowers themselves and with the 2 year official warranty this seems a great deal. Was looking to buy new from Amazon, but thanks for the post might get them from here. Heat added.
I did ask about this and the ear pads were all replaced, hence the recertified status and no wax!
so 'recertefied' is another way of saying these phones may contain forensic traces of earwax in them?

Great sound, but I think this is better value and gets reviews which state "better than B&W"

THIS
"two midrange drivers, two tweeters and a large bass/midrange driver in the center of the unit".

Apparently 75mm bass

P5 in ivory at the same price (also recertified).
These are recertified (RC) p3's hence the lower price, ie returned due to fault then reconditioned by B&W. Comes in a plain box but still with 2 years B&W warranty. I have these and they are awesome. A great price for these but I think you might want to edit the title with "Recertified". Hot from me.

"*This is a previously unsealed product that has undergone precise and uncompromising tests and evalutations by B&W engineers to ensure that they meet the same strict quality standards you would expect from any product designed and manufactured by Bowers & Wilkins. Recertified products include a unique packaging, and include all documentation, cables and remote control. Every recertified product from Bowers & Wilkins includes the standard 2-year warranty included with brand new B&W products. The reason for their recertification may vary depending on both model and series. For more information, please consult this article."

Cheapest out there at the moment, can cold voters find it cheaper? I'd like to know.

Nothing to do with them being cheaper elsewhere, headphones = cold votes unless they're like a penny :p

Agree. My pair are in great condition and sound epic. All factory sealed from B&W.
Bought these.

Great buy, I didn't see the post here may be worth adding Bowers & Wilkins to the title.

These look brand new and have 2 years warranty at less then half the rrp. You would struggle to get p3s for this price!

Recertified another expression meaning used, failed and repaired.
yup, corsair do the same for knackered pen drives. My experience with re certified has never been a good one but i guess if you get a decent warranty, as long as your not having to claim on it numerous times.

Yes been looking at both, will wait another week to see if the P7's drop if they don't I will probably pick the P5 Ivory up instead.

Owning the p5s is the only reason I haven't felt I can justify getting the p7s... yet. The p5s are great in their own right and still surprise me every time I put them on. At £125 they're a steal. Can't wait for the p9s!

Was looking around at P5 and P7 and was just about to buy them and came across this deal. Only wished they was still at £247.00 will wait and see if they drop again. Didn't want to pay more than £250 for my next headphones as I already have some in ears which cost a lot.

The same store has P5's in cream for £125 !!
Received them this morning and so far.....

WOW!!

Superb quality cans worth every penny!

I have checked and checked again for any marks and can see none at all, in fact they look like they are brand new not re-worked.

So once again, thanks for the link.

Please read our post regarding the B&W recertification process; recertified is not quite the same as reconditioned. These units are sold 'as-new' in near-mint condition and come with the same two-year manufacturer's warranty.

Thanks!

Anyone ever bought decertified ones if so any good
I hadn't noticed that, I'll change the title.
These are reconditioned though, so you wouldn't expect to pay £169 for them.

I tried these for fun whilst in Harrods and thought they were bog average. Nothing special and not much better than my Bose AE2's which aren't great themselves.
It's because you didn't spend enough time with them and you didn't get on with the overly analytical presentation I suspect as they aren't that bad. what did you listen to on them btw? Not mp3s through an iPod I hope :P

I'm very impressed with the 509 - hooked it up, updated firmware via ethernet, did the calibration thing (a few times, the cat kept going into one, disturbing the results haha)

Sounds very nice, noticably better than the Sony and seems very responsive when navigating menus etc

Cheers Loughboro guy
Stop tempting me :)

The old 5.1 is a Sony, that developed a buzz from the transformer inside the amp itself - no 5 year cover on it, so replacement was the only option :)

Hmmm, mine might have to do that - my Sony is now 8 years old.
