As seen on the Aldi website:

http://uk.aldi.com/uk/html/offers/58_9932.htm

However, my local store in Yarm had them (at least a dozen of them) on the shelf at £59.99!! There was a sticker on the box saying an HDMI cable was included too.

I even picked up a copy of the latest Rambo on blu-ray for £3.99 but couldn't find any other discs. :o(

That is one mother or a bargain.

Out of the blue

Blu-ray high-definition redefined They might look just like conventional DVD/CDs, but Blu-ray discs are read by a blue (violet) laser that operates on a shorter wavelength, so it can be focused with greater precision on narrower tracks, enabling Blu-ray discs to store a massive 50GB on a dual layer. This colossal storage capacity results in razor-sharp pictures, graphics and sounds of unprecedented definition and quality. Over 1,000 blockbuster movies are already available on Blu-ray disc in the UK, together with an ever-growing number of game console discs.

may be store pacific and labeled wrong, if so its just luck m8, but well done !!!!

£60 seems to be right price, not £120 this is a cost of a branded player nowadays

£3.99 for a quite recent bluray movie is good though!
#3
I'm fairly sure these can be region hacked via remote control for both dvd and blu-ray.

All blu-ray players are HD don't think it needs to be in the title, good price but already posted and not nationwide either.

Better too much info in the title than not enough like some on here;-)

Might be cheap but the cost of the flights alone would put this at well over a grand.

There will be £20 before long. Might even consider getting one then! Good deal though!

That took me a while to get ....

These are excellent players.

Can easily be made into region free from the remote, so doesn't invalidate your warranty.

Good build quality too, just a little slow on the boot up but that's only a minor gripe.

Plays DIVX too.

Are there hugh differences between this and say a £100 sony BR player? I know loading times are going to be faster on the Sony but anything major once the disk is in and playing?

Also does this have BD Live 2.0?
#14
Can this be hacked for multiregion bluray? Eg Based on the Mutsumi or whatever player that does all region bluray?

Close Matt :p

If it looks like this http://www.momitsu.com/bdp_899.html then yes. I believe previous Aldi Tevion?? models [No Aldi's over here in NI] were the compact 799 model rebranded. :)

Have a read here on the compact one as sold by Ebuyer - seems to be an issue with Fox titles.... http://forums.ebuyer.com/showthread.php?t=53612

Is BD Live actually worth having? The last time I activated it I ended up on a website full of trailers for other movies, which frankly was not worth the bother - if I want to see trailers I can access them far more easily on my PC...

I get the impression that BD Live is a solution looking for a problem - there isn't the content online to make it worth while - it's just marketing woffle, vapourware. Unless someone can show me otherwise.

Great price for a BluRay player though... I might replace that Panny BD35 I sold last week and now wish I hadn't...

This offer applies to the Yarm store ONLY which opened with specials last week. They also had the Tevion HDMI DVD for £19.99,which I was lucky enough to grab on opening day.
#22
I am sure these are the same as the curtis brand which was selling for around £40 from dixons.
They can also be set to play Blu-rays from US.
#23
If you can get this, get one fast. Multiregion by code for dvd and blu. Great deal.

Yes but you need to add a usb memory stick in the front, they saved on making memory. And these cost a pittance now. I think you only need a gig.

COLD.

I just went to Aldi Exeter and they were all £119.99. I asked if there were differences in store prices, the guy said no, then went on to say they've had different Blu-Ray players at different prices before (I couldn't be bothered to explain!)

However I did buy an upscaling HDMI normal DVD player, with HDMI cable, USB port and divx playback for £26.39.
#28
Just bought one of these players from the Redcar store, it was £69.95 and it looks like a rebadged Momitsu.

It was nationwide, you just have to be lucky to find one. There was a thread about it 3 weks back? It's been dropping in price a while now.
