Judging by the antics of many half-wits in this town it must be one of the least read books in the UK. Yes you twonks who park on double yellows, run red lights, travel at warp factor 9 in built up areas, fail to secure children and gabble incessantly into mobile phones, gawd strewth give me strength!

ironically it will be those who already drive pretty well or at least concious to the thought of driving well, that will install this.

Really badly designed app. Didn't even have the road signs. It's just a pile of text under poor headings. Cant even search. Refunded.

Just download the pdf as far better, and free

now if your ever driving along and don't know what a no entry sign means you can pull your phone and look at this

and then get 6 points and £100 fine if new legislation gets passed ;)

In the old days I think there was a real "code" of the road.

A slow moving vehicle such a a tractor or a caravan would actually pull into a lay-by to let you past on a long and winding road.

If you were broken down, several people would stop to offer you help.

Now it's dog eat dog, everyone trying to **** on everybody else, nobody cares what this little book says. Sad but true.

I often have to quote the highway code as a pedestrian crossing a side road only to have a vehicle turn in off the main road at me. Stop **** I shout, its my right of way, I stepped out before I even knew you existed, what do you expect if you round a ninety degree corner at 25mph. Do they care, do they heck.

Well if you can afford the penalty if you get caught the there's very little deterrent. Makes me thing of those news articles I read about massive fines millionaires get for speeding in countries where offenders are means tested.

Voted hot as a 'good' deal viewed in isolation, but in reality as much use as a chocolate teapot. So much of the code is outdated drivel, such as stopping distances etc. Most of the rest is ignored because there are too many people on the roads who only care about themselves and how quickly they can get to where they're going!

Who's this even for? People that are conscientious enough to buy it probably don't need it and people that need to probably won't bother. Bit of a waste of money all round.

For information purposes I can see this being good, just don't understand how someone can break the "highway code" and not be liable for anything as my insurance provider quoted that it's merely a guide and not law. I had a motorbike overtake me on the right while I was in middle of the road indicating right at a junction! The highway code states you MUST NOT overtake approaching or at a junction, 70/30 blame oO

Yes, unfortunately the Highway Code is just a 'guide'. Most people haven't read it since they passed their test and don't care it even exists, as long as they get to their destination 5 seconds faster

Well yes and no, some points refer to the Road Traffic Act (which is "The Law") but the rest is essentially just a bunch of traditions which if followed help to avoid conflict.

Just Google the road signs on ya phone whilst driving. It's free if your not caught. Have some heat for the deal though it's about time I read up on new rules though and to be fair so should most people in all honesty.

Section 17.2

Always offer a nescafe to a caravan driver when you finally overtake after being stuck behind for 10 miles.

Don't forget the people that park in either parent and child spaces that don't have kids with them or the ones that park in disabled bays that aren't disabled or the drivers that don't indicate because they can't be bothered......the list from these ignorant and arrogant people goes on and on!

As a deal, it's not bad value.
Though isn't this book basically "common sense" for the road? Like "leave a safe distance from car in front" = "don't tailgate".
#33
Green = Go, Amber = Speed up, Red for less than 5 seconds = Go even faster.
The driving standard in Bradford is shocking.

Green cross code = assume all traffic will attempt to kill you whilst crossing the road regardless of who has actual right of way.
