Our old trusty unit is playing up so been looking for a replacement. Came across this Hisense unit which gives really good storage options on both levels (and a wine rack!) and a cold water dispenser.

It's A+ energy rated & totally frost free & comes with a 2 year warranty. Plus delivery is for free if willing to wait a couple of days.

Dimensions are Height 185.4 Width 59.5 x depth 65.4.

So after so serious research felt it was good enough to fit the bill and should be with us on Tuesday.

Quidco tracked straight away at 2% as well. Plus Use code TENNEROFF to get £10 off the listed price... Thanks to Davidclack.

There are similar units that look the same with argos & boots BUT are smaller in capacity. This model is the RB381N4WC1 with Dimensions @ Height 185.4 Width 59.5 x depth 65.4.

Thanks to a 293 litre capacity, you can store 16 shopping bags of groceries in this stainless steel coloured fridge freezer from Hisense. The fridge’s handy wine rack lets you chill your bottles without taking up any shelf space. For added convenience, the dedicated Holiday Setting keeps your freezer running as normal, whilst optimising fridge settings to prevent odours and save energy. When you have lots of new food to put away, the freezer has a great Super Fast Freezing function. It rapidly drops the cabinet temperature, freezing food quickly so nutrients are locked in.

Not same....my model is RB38IN4WCI which size wise is 185.4 x59.5 x 65.4 the argos one has less capacity, less shelves, no wine rack & is smaller 175 x 55 x 57.2.

So agreed it looks similar BUT has less spec and is smaller. ;)

Not sure about the water dispenser, they usually take up useful space in the door where you normally put the milk....plus they need regular cleaning (whats wrong with just putting a bottle of water in the fridge?). Is it also true of frost free fridge freezers that you have to cover/containerise everything in the fridge, otherwise it dries out very quickly? (it doesn't show this in their photos but they also like putting red wine in the fridge).

Looking at the pictures think you are right about the water dispenser taking up alot of space on the door which is compounded by the lower drawer being full depth which takes out even more door space. Wine rack can be removed if not needed.

I've had a frost free ff for years and it's been great. Things do dry out but not sure if that's more than a trad fridge. Things can get tainted by strong smells though.

Things dry out in any fridge do t really see why a ff would be any different the frost free part refers to the fan they put in the freezer don't see how that'd affect the fridge

Is this stainless steel or plastic. It says "look" and one pic looks like plastic but one looks like stainless steel?

We were in a very similar situation and ended up buying a Kenwood (so we thought) from Currys but if my research is correct its manufactured by Hisense. It was delivered on Tuesday and have to say for the price is very good and we like the water dispenser not that large.

Word of warning about the dimensions, if space is tight you need to allow space for the door opening. It doesn't open flush with the side of the unit, possibly an extra 2" needed, the door width. Ours kept hitting the wall luckily we were able to pull unit out enough to allow doors to open. Also if swapping doors opening some of the hinge bolts were very tight, took my time, its easy enough but you will need more than a screw driver.

children instead of gobbing the odds, why not contact each retailer and getting them to confirm the height difference, though little more than 2 inches, other wise shut the F up

Just a word about Hi-Sense; We bought a wide fridge freezer for our utility room and it's been so good, in every way, that I'd thought I'd write this comment here now. :)

A bit confused by people's comments about frost-free fridges drying things out. Anything I put in ours gets a bit damp, especially fresh fruit, which I normally wrap in kitchen roll to absorb the moisture. Also, water runs down the back wall of the fridge. Assuming this is normal? X)

No. Hisense. Well known in China and it seems to be causing quite a stir in UK now :)

Good price but still worth shopping around. Just picked up a RS723N4WB1 from eBay, brand new with full 2 year warranty for £311. 2 barely noticeable marks on it gave about £200 off normal price.

Fridges do dry things out - the condensation running down the back wall is the reason, and happens because that is the cold surface which cools down the interior. This makes the air in the fridge very dry, so if you don't cover things up they will dry out. The instructions for your fridge will explain this.

If Hisense Fridge freezers are half as good as their TV's then I'm definitely interested in this. Going by the AO & YouTube reviews this is a very nice high grade FF at a ridiculously good price.
Problem is I have a very reliable, perfect working order, well made but boring white goods FF that doesn't need replacing. Do I shell out £270 on something I would like, but not necessarily need :{

The fridge is made by AMICA (polish) which is a huge global manufacturer. Hinese and Kenwood are just brand names stuck to the unit. The advantage is that Spare parts are plentiful and widely available and easy to fit.

Just don't make a buying decision based on the brand name.
#34
Sorry, but what you have posted is nonesense. First, not 'Hinese', its 'Hisense', and secondly Hisense is not just a brand name stuck on a unit. Hisense is Chinese and is one of the world's biggest producers of commercial and consumer electronics and white goods. It makes a huge range of products, everything from mobile phones, TVs , fridges to commercial refrigeration and air conditioning. It has production facilities around the world, and 7 overeas R&D centres including in the US and Europe. Hisense is a huge company that designs develops and manufactures excellent products. It has technology exchange agreements with some of the worlds leading companies. China. Compared to a whale like Hisense, Poland's AMICA is just a minnow.

Completely wrong. Hisense branded products are made by Hisense. Amica imports some products from China and rebadges them.

Yes apologies - i misread the manufacturer. Since you corrected me 3 times i'm sure other readers will no longer be confused.

Thanks OP, just ordered one as my 15yo Whirlpool fridge/freezer just packed up.

I had mine delivered yesterday...the water reservoir is a pain to fill so I'm debating removing this as it also makes the inside door shelf quite unusable. Also one of the shelves is so shallow that I can't think of anything to store in it apart from dairy milk/galaxy bars :{ other that that I'm fairly pleased, just don't expect the delivery drivers to wear covers over their huge bovver boots when they traipse through your newly carpeted house

Swap a couple of the shelves. My wine rack is at the bottom of the fridge now - giving room underneath and room at the top - no narrow shelves and plenty of space. :)
