Great deal. However, it is not a case of fanatics debating the purity of HDR... you simply cannot achieve it on this TV lol! There is no debate to be had. It's like saying fanatics debate whether a Ferrari is actually faster than a Skoda... no, it actually is!!
Why do I have an HDR setting in my menu then?

For the same reason a Skoda has 160MPH on the speedometer. Makes you THINK you can go really fast. You can't.

My Skoda has 170 on the speedo and does 144. It does go really fast. Make a more valid point.

I was looking for a cheap 4K monitor (not for gaming) so this is awesome deal for me.

Trust me, get it while you can. Great TV and I was dubious at first but it all checked out. The firmware update has made a buzz on AV forums too. Even tempted to get a second but who needs two? (_;)

How noticeable is a good HDR set to a lower end one to the untrained eye I wonder?

Reviews seem a bit mixed. Quite a few one stars. That being said, the price is amazing

Fair enough. However, answer this, find me a set at this price with the same features or better? :{

Ignore them honestly. I had the eBuyer 40" 4k before this and had to send back 3 sets then it got discontinued. Thought no chance of a 4k tv/monitor at the same sort of price then this cropped up. So much better and well worth the extra £50 from the eBuyer version all day long.

If I am looking for a TV for my 8 year old daughters including using it as a monitor for a PC for xmas. Looking for between 32"-40" inches. Anything else people would recommend?

Thanks you mean the Samsung 4K tv being sold by Ebuyer? I was trying to decide between the 2! Thanks

very very good deal, shame that i need a bigger size, I wish it would be a 49 inch 4k hisense for around £300

picture quality is simply stunning but the interface is awful and sluggish. i picked up the 50 inch version last week and cant wait to get my ps4 hooked up

Well HDR content is quite slim at the moment, so unless you aim to buy a UHD Blu-ray player, Xbox one, or ps4 pro, you won't notice a thing. Many of the official games to support the PS4 Pro don't actually have HDR, they are just higher resolution. Just buy the best TV you can afford at the time of wanting one or you'll be waiting forever, for that perfect TV that does everything!

Had the 50" a few weeks and is great for the price. My only critcism (ish) could be colours appear bit washed out if you don't watch centrally. Its not a dealbreaker for me but is noticeable at angles closer to the screen.

Samsung 6020 4K £298 JL price matched. That is the 40'' TV you cant beat

Yes I have a ps4 pro and a Xb1s so I do want to make use of them but really don't want to splash out silly money when the tech is only just getting up and running. I have the 55m7000 in the living room. I might just sneak that into the man cave!

Avoid, terrible backlight clouding. Got one and sent it back, looking at reviews it's a common problem.

The lower end ones can only put out about a 3rd of what the 'proper' ones can, which gives the contrast. It's the brightness you would notice I would imagine.

Heat added btw, can't knock the price.

For £249 I will take a risk ( and will get used to it too :) ) . For my use as a monitor for media and everyday work on couple windows it will be excellent. 40" 4K monitor :) - I would not find it cheaper anywhere.

But for a living room TV it also should be ok (especially at this price). I do not have big expectations from £249 TV.

As I first stated, this is a great deal, no doubt about it. But anyone thinking they are getting a full HDR experience with this set is sadly mistaken. Sets twice the price can't manage that, but for what it is, yes, great deal.

It's still a valid point... this doesn't even come close to meeting the requirements for HDR in terms of brightness or colour gamut. Doesn't mean it's not a good deal for a 4K 40" TV though, because it is.

I sincerely hope you mean a track, airfield or autobahn for the 144mph btw!

Could anyone please tell me which is better between this TV and the Samsung UE40KU6020?

Also does anyone know the input lag for this TV? I want to use it with my ps4.

The panel is not capable of true HDR, for £250 who cares it's dirt cheap.
