I assume it's just plug and play, amazon and Netflix apps are also starting to produce HDR content.

Their returns policy for open box is appalling.

Nice price though.

I agree hence why I am reluctant to use them. However their policy and the law are two different things. If its damaged they must collect it and you can have a refund or brand new - not repaired model. Had a few disputes with them and I have always had to ram the law down their throats. Only purchase with CC if it was me.

Does this tv have bluetooth?

Was tempted by the Samsung UE40KU6000 40" deal but seem to be getting more tv for less money here. Just unsure of the Hisense brand as never had one.

they're actually quite a respected brand. Dig a little online and read a few reviews on amazon to help you decide.

Can someone explain why this is hot yet a Polaroid 55" at same price isn't? I'm just not sure I get the difference, two basement brands?

Do a little research on Hisense, far from a basement brand

Absolutely, just buy from another retailer. They have contempt for their customers and should be avoided at all costs

Good price for a 49" tv

Got this 2 weeks ago, fantastic tv. Worth spending the extra 50 quid for 6 years free warranty at Richer Sounds as my last tv repair was nearly 200 quid.

personally I would never buy a Hi Sense as they are now.. they are in a league above the Supermarket Brands.. they do have better software, support, build quality and even decent panels.. far better than you Digihomes and Polaroids.

for some they will be happy with a big TV stuck on there wall, but personally I wouldnt look at anything less than Samsung or Sony for the living room, people can say what they like but ive seen the Hi Sense TV's even the high end ones and they are very very good but they wont touch a Samsung KS7000.

all you've said is very very true, if you have/want to spend the extra money on a Samsung then you will get a better product, it's all down to people's budgets and requirements but for the money Hisense are a good option.

I agree, I mean...Why doesn't my Dacia Sandero get the same rep my Ferrari does? Comparing apples to oranges doesn't really work when the Samsung you've mentioned costs 250%+ more.

Have just bought a 49" lg 4K smart tv from Argos for £399 and I must say it is the bees knees
Have since decided that because that tv is so gud it's being moved into the dining room
We've since purchased a 55" Luxor 4K smart tv from Very for £379 for the front room and think we will be impressed with this also

You have misinterpreted what I said, I completely agree with you.. I wasnt comparing them simply stating that they do not offer the same quality as a Samsung or Sony, no matter how well regarded Hi Sense is in the Budget TV arena.

I was comparing a high end Hi Sense say the Hisense M7000 to that of a Samsung KS7000.. they are close in price ( the Hi Sense still cheaper).

Will this be on sale anywhere but curved??

I'll second this, credit card only. With regards to the restocking fee, I don't belive they can legally charge this if you inform them within 14 days that your cancelling the contract. Unless the item has signs or wear and tear or has be damaged by you, they must offer a full refund including original postage (if you paid extra for quick delivery they do not need to refund that) they can't add restocking fees etc as you've
cancelled any contract between yourself and AO.

Don't let them claim because you've opened it and removed the packaging they must charge for restocking, you have every right to remove all packaging to inspect the goods.

Can someone explain why this is hot yet a Polaroid 55" at same price isn't? I'm just not sure I get the difference, two basement brands?

I think basically because many people take a very simplistic approach to TV brands when in reality models vary in quality and performance within each brands range. This model only has a 8bit panel with low brightness which is less than a third of the required 1000 cd/m2 brightness required for true HDR.

http://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/e0db5fc

It's also only 2x7w sound output and a low motion compensation rate. Seems like a tv based on fairly low end components and the price reflects this. The Which consumer group has a few Hisense models on their 'DO NOT BUY' warning list.

I don't know how this compares to a similar Polaroid tv but I know I wouldn't buy this Hisense tv because going by its specification it looks poor.

On the whathifi site there are four Polaroid tv reviews and the reviews are generally good but then Walmart may only have sent sample sets to whathifi for review that they knew contained better panels, faster logic boards etc and not sent the Polaroid tv's based on lower end components for review. There are 100's of different TV chips (SOC's) from single cpu to up to 12 cpu's feature better gpu's, more memory etc. It's a huge range in performance, then you add about half a dozen major panel makers who do a range of low end to top end performance panels all at different price points.

I have a Vestel tv with a fast quad core logic board (feature packed) using a LG passive 3D 4k panel and the tv is brilliant but Vestel also make entry level sets with dual core logic boards and basic VA 4k panels and Vestel have lost some market share to companies like UMC who offer even more basic sets at a lower price.

The current Which reliability survey for tv's has these as the top three.

1. Panasonic
2. Sony
3. LG

I'm seriously considering the 55" curved version.. just trying to justify it as I really don't need a new TV!
