Probably not 10bit so HDR doesn't matter

It is HDR, to what degree exactly, I'm not entirely sure.

Thanks for the promo code, any idea when it expires? :)

almost as good as the recent AO.COM deal on this, but with a much better returns policy.

heat from me. :)

****, I got this tv last week (from Argos) don't worry about the lack of 10 bit panel / true hdr. I've been watching 4K content from YouTube and amazon prime, which is just stunning, my wife even commented on how good the picture was, and she couldnt tell the difference from ad to hd, is great for gaming as well. A right bargain at this price, I paid about £390.

Wouldn't it be better to just get it from Richer Sounds as price match for £399 with 6 year guarantee. In fact the site says they even match codes, so you should be able to get it for the same price as above with a 6 year guarantee from RS... Just a thought....

RS have told me in the last few weeks that they don't price match codes? Can you link to where it says that they do?

Just spoke to richer sounds and they said wont price match unless the Guarantee is the same. Offered to match the £399
#14
Just reserved the last one in any story local to me - but there was no option to add a code?!

So still 4 years less than RS .Having recently being refunded 800 from M&S for a 4 year old plasma I would stick with RS for the small difference .

Isn't it £37 extra? Also I think Argos are doing the £10 voucher for £100 spend at the moment. But agree with you about warranty, it's ridiculous that Argos don't do the same!

can't use codes for in-store reserve. delivery only

Great TV, bought one a couple of months ago. Can't be beat at the price point.

As for HDR, it's an 8-bit panel that emulates 10-bit, so caveat emptor.

So they won't match the code but will the pre-code price? Have you tried getting them to match Amazon at £379.99? That would be excellent with their warranty.

Also does anyone know what the difference is between this model and the M5500? As far as I can see the M5500 was HDR and this was not on release but has had the update now, otherwise the specs seem pretty much the same.

Does it have a gaming mode that turns off any post processing?

I have all my external devices running through a Sony AV receiver that can upscale to 4K anyway if needed, I imagine that would handle upscaling better than most TVs.

What is the Amazon warranty though because like he said, they only price match with the same warranty?!

I think Amazon is only the two years (one year plus one for registering), but if they agreed to match the Argos pre-code price despite this they might match Amazon as there is no code there.

I would like this TV but a lot of people are complaining generally of poor SD image on 4K TVs
Can you comment as that will be mostly what I will be watching
Cheers

Yeas free view standard definition is not the best. It's the same with most 1080p sets as well. There is freeview had which looks good! 4K videos look immense!

How does this compare to 49 LGUH650V apart from brand name. Also LG is direct LED lit as opposed to Edge LED lit on Hisense. Looks nicer too for an extra £80. Decisions Decisions!! Anyone have the LG?

It very much depends on a) the channel you're watching and b) what settings you've used. I used setting posted on the avforums, the main sd channels are ok (the big ones have HD versions anyway), certainly no worse than on the 42" tv this one replaced, other channels like QVC (the wife watches this one) and the minor freeview one (things like the food channels) are still watchable.
