yeah, I was thinking of ordering about the same time as you and was looking for a code. Just as well I held out waiting for a code. Thanks to op for the code as always. Good luck to trying AO to get the discount code off your order. If not maybe you can cancel the original order and reorder. Pity have to pay £15 del to NI but can't win them all :p

One more quick question can the discount codes be stacked,

Just ask because I got a £20 code for opening a new account. Can I use the £20 code as well as the TV40AO code?

Life lessons 101 always Google for a voucher code, saw this and the code earlier on in the week but didn't think it was much of a deal so didn't post (no offence to the op).

I'm sure they'll retrospectively add the voucher code if you give them a ring (which you'd have to do to cancel the order anyway), they amended my order/voucher code rather than cancelling/reordering.

Once I got through they were very helpful, just be prepared to wait on hold a while (and by a while I mean 30 plus minutes).

As for the voucher codes these don't stack and just cancel each other out when creating a new order, no harm in asking them but I doubt they'll apply both (I didn't bother as the TV40AO wasn't applicable to my amended order).

I originally ordered the 65" as the 55" was out of stock, but have since rung them to amend this to a 55" instead (they told me they had 3 left after my order if I recall correctly).

I feel this offers better value all round using the £20 new account discount and £50 trade in offer, also don't forget sites like topcashback/quidco.

You'd have to cancel/reorder through the site to be eligible and it's only 1.5%, but still it's another £9.00 - £13.00 in your pocket.

This makes the 55" just over £500 (bargin imo for such a highly praised TV), although if you're in the market for a 65" I don't think you can go far wrong with the above!

To all the tv tech experts, how good is the HDR on this? 8 bit? 10 bit? Need to educate myself a bit more over tv specs.

Really it depends on your level of criticality over PQ, if you're the type to notice detail, you'll see a difference.

In essence, the TV can display more colour variations.

If they can't amend your order tell them to cancel .Ao don't have a good reputation on HUKD due to their restocking fee if you return under distance selling rules .2 year warranty and above fact I would be seeing what Richer sounds and JL can do who both have superior warranty and customer service.

This is 8bit FRC.

Difference between 8bit FRC and 10bit from a 4k HDR source (and assuming everything else about the panel is identical)
None to the human eye.

Tempting at this price but the new Hisense range are coming out in the next couple of months and provide much better HDR. Hold off if you can!

I went for the 58 inch 4k last year.A great telly I cant fault it ...apart from rubbish apps. But I use fire stick anyway.

lol at ao this has been £799 all week and the 55" version £599 they now put them up and give a £40 off discount code making them £10 more expensive.
£899 all week than reduced to £849
#23
Oh i must have made a mistake then? could have swore blind it was £799 as i deffo know the 55" version was £599 as i ordered one :)
#24
U guys sure it wasn't some other 65" model that was £799?
#25
I want this tv, but the short warranty is putting me off. 2 years on a relatively new brand is too risky.

Hisense have been making tv's for 45 years, not what i'd call a relatively new brand. Hisense is also the best selling TV brand in China.

Relatively new in this country. When other companies like kia and hyundai were new to the UK Market they gave e you peace of mind with 7 year warranties.

How long they've been in China is irrelevant as we don't know what quality of tvs they released in that time.

Given the vast majority of the population was impoverished until recently I don't think tv production was top of their agenda.

Strange, Google "AO Voucher Codes" and the top result is "myvouchercodes" with TV40AO plastered all over it.

The 65" was £849 a couple of weeks back (plus £30 off code), went up to £899 on Monday and back down to £849 again on Friday (plus £40 off code). The 55" has stayed consistently at £594, but was out of stock until Sunday and out of stock again now.

Along with a higher price tag, the 65"s good value at this price and the 55" is an absolute steal.

Poor service from AO. TV was scheduled for delivery on Monday past and only got a call from the delivery service late yesterday afternoon and they can only deliver on Friday without any explanation for the delay. First purchase from AO and probably never again especially when I have to pay £15 delivery charge and have people waiting around the house for the delivery the last 2 days

Yes I took issue with their customer service and they are proposing to refund the £15 delivery. It's still a hassle of now having to arrange someone to wait for delivery on Friday. I do not have problems with John Lewis and they usually deliver FOC and on time (within 2 working days) even though they don't have a physical store here in Northern Ireland. I don't understand why big merchants like AO etc let the delivery service they use get away with such poor service, especially when it has an adverse effect on their reputation.
