Where are the reviews? One user on AVForums doesn't count.
Doesn't appear to support HDR over HDMI which is a bit odd.

Hisense are releasing a firmware update for all their 2016 models in Q4 to support HDR over HDMi where it is currently not supported.

Picking mine up from Brighthouse tomorrow. As soon as they've stitched me up following removal of my kidneys and liver - yes, I opted for the small deposit easy payment scheme - I'll fire her up and write a review.

I had such high hopes for Hisense, they certainly talked the talk.

I would add to your points that...

1)They've been selling their sets (current and previous generations) with constant promises of firmware fixes which never materialise. I certainly wouldn't buy one on the promise that features are coming soon.

2) They seem to be selling differing specs of the same model in different regions, which is making it hard to really pin down just what you'll get - e.g edge lit versus full array back lighting.

I'm sorry you feel that way, I'm actually just a concerned citizen looking for answers.

You appear to be mistaking press releases for reviews, these provide no technical analysis of the panels used in the screen. What are the response times like, how many nits can the screen output, are there any colour banding issues, what are the black levels like, how is the image and motion processing handled? All useful to know at any price point.

I think you are in the wrong but it wasn't my intention to offend, apologies it has to be this way.

They are active. I would of much preferred passive :( but 3D is not something I will see myself personally using much.

Hahaha yes, I normally laugh and smile when people hurt my feelings, that is more of your common sense at work again lol.

I have checked your profile to see all your comments, you are just another toxic internet user, who is super clever with their words while you have anonymity, while having no idea what your actually talking about. You rave Samsung and therefore every other make is just crap. Where was Sumsung back in the CRT days? they built their reputation by smart people who understood the quality and specs, rather than a company that has already established it's brand. HiSense (The number 1 brand in China, but your so clever you already knew this) are on the way up outside of China now. Once they are established outside of China!, I am sure you will then be raving about them, only because you know the brand by this time, rather than the actual facts about their displays.

I have pasted the definition of 'Anonymity' for your convenience.

Anonymity:

noun
the condition of being anonymous.
"the official spoke on condition of anonymity"
lack of outstanding, individual, or unusual features; impersonality.
"the anonymity of big city life definitely has its advantages"

Ah you are still digging your hole. I can see you used all of that exceptional wit you have to come up with an insult like 'Get a life', nobody on the net has heard that before. I must write it down for future use.

If it makes you happy to think you hurt my feelings, then you go ahead :) I like to help those in need.

As for my profile, I have found some light reading for you that may help you distinguish between the two.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/ks3/maths/number/negative_numbers/revision/2/

Good luck, if you do well enough, I will post you a gold star sticker, you can display it on the fridge to show how well you did. If you don't brag about it to the other kids, I will also send you a lollipop for being extra good.

Nice spot!

I have setup the TV now and so far I am very impressed. Given the main TV feed I am sending it is Virgin Media which outputs at 1080i, I was a bit worried with regards to pixellation at this size/distance. The TV handles it really well, far better than I was expecting.

I have been throwing loads of 1080p and 4k content, while playing with the settings etc from Netflix and Youtube. It is simply stunning, I can't imagine how a picture could be better, certainly not noticeable to the human eye, unless you are maybe a graphical designer using CAD software etc.

The screen is very reflective, so if you have a window behind you or if your viewing from an angle, and the window is to the side, then it can make seeing the screen difficult during bright daylight ! so please bear this in mind. That is the only negative I have at the moment, but one I feel people should know about before jumping in.

Thanks for that review! Did you have to calibrate the colors of the TV in the beginning or are you running everthing under standard settings? What do you think about the black levels of the TV - have you watched a movie at night? Cheers!

I took the settings directly from the AV forum post when I setup in the beginning. I am not clued up enough on the settings myself. I only know what is a good picture or not, which is why I spent about two days reading all sorts of internet stuff on it. Black levels so far have been really good, but like you say I will know better when I sit with a movie. My sister is coming round tonight, so I will be throwing a movie on. I am sure she will get hacked of with me changing all the lighting round the room lol, but I am sure she will cope haha.

I am still loving it though, no regrets so far. Only further down side I have, is more of an OCD spoiler, which is on the bottom of the remote, they have four fast keys which go to either Netflix, YouTube, Wuaki and TXT. I will never use the TXT or the Wuaki buttons, so I think these would of been better left generic, so the user can assign them to the smart tv app of their choice, but this was only a basic OCD spoiler :)

Thanks! Yeah I have been keeping an eye on the avforum settings as well. Do let us know about the tvs performance in night / dark environment - i am certainly not expecting OLED near black levels, but would be good to get a sense of "what to expect".

Hello all. So I managed to get some viewing done last night with all sorts of content in different lighting. At 1080i with crimson tide, the fade from light to dark was not the best, it had a rainbow effect (without the colours) from light to dark.

I then put it through some 4k stuff and it was amazing still. The only time the blacks were more grey, was the outside borders on things that were not full screen. It handles the blacks really really well.

No the down sides. When trying to load something off my NAS drive, I found that it does not seem to have any DLNA functionality built in, something I took for granted. I may drop HiSense a mail and ask if there is an app going to be released to sort this.

What really hacked me off, was I found a dead pixel :( which is illuminating green. It really draws your eye in when viewing stuff in low light, which is exactly the environment I will be using for watching movies. So, this is where we get to see how Ebuyers customer support holds up, given the price of this TV.

Sadley, Ebuyers customer support is just pure awful! I would recommend paying the extra cash I purchase this from some place like Amazon, where the customer service is much better. I will certainly NEVER order from Ebuyer again.

Time for me to open legal proceeding on this one!

Here is the full chat script from customer services:

Scarlett: Hello, welcome to our live chat service. Is there anything we can help you with today?

Me: Hello
please can you confirm if I am talking to a human?

Scarlett: Yes you are speaking to a person.

Me: Ahh great.
I have just purchased a TV from yourselves. I am in love with the TV, it is amazing, but unfortunately, it has a dead pixel which is illuminating green [sad]
Order No: xxxxxxxxx

Scarlett: Just for security can I take your full name and the first line of your billing address please?
Me: xxxxx xxxxxxx
xx xxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxx

Scarlett: Thank you. Does the item only have one dead pixel?

Me: Yes

Scarlett: Bear with me one moment.
This item would need more than one dead pixel for it to be considered faulty. I can raise you a return for this as not required but thiswould need to be sent back at your own cost.

Me: You are quoting outdated consumer laws. A single dead pixel is not deemed to be acceptable anymore. I would like to have either a replacement or a refund. This can't be at cost to me, as this is faulty tech. If you are refusing to do this, then I will take the further steps I need to, to ensure this is resloved.

Scarlett: I have checked this with my Senior Advisor and we do not believe this is the case. However if you are able to email me this over where it advises this is out dated I would be more than happy to review this further for you.

Me: Sorry, I am not willing to do the ground work for you, I am your customer. I expect to be treated with respect. But you have made your choice. So now I will take my actions. My first will be to let the community know the screen issue and also the level of customer service I am getting from Ebuyer at: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/hisense-m7900-75-ultra-hd-smart-3d-tv-2195-98-ebuyer-2494412?p=28603729
I will go speak with my legal representatives and be in touch soon.

Scarlett: Okay thats fine.

I took some pictures of the screen using my Cannon 1000D DSLR. It will let you see the content I was using to test the screen and also the dead pixel :(

NOTE: This will NOT show how sharp the TV is or the picture quality. The slight blur is due to using a slow shutter speed, due to the low light.

Me: xxxxx xxxxxxx
xx xxxxxxxx

I would expect that sort of response from any retailer, not just Ebuyer over a single dead or stuck pixel. Not many retailers would entertain a return (possibly John Lewis and Amazon being the exception) over one dead pixel. If it is indeed a stuck green sub pixel, they're the worst kind (bright green on a black background)

I know its not entirely honest but what you should have said was the TV has an intermittent fault such as intermittently powering off or completely dead, you could even remove the fuse and replace it with a blown example. You could still go down this route but make sure you do it before its over six months old, that's when Ebuyer's proportionate refund policy kicks in and they get even more difficult to deal with. Otherwise you'll either have to live with the TV as it is or pay to ship it back and see what you get offered as a refund.

Hahaha how the uneducated entertain me. I guess me reading that brings the same feelings to me, that you would feel watching a chimp in the zoo work out how to extract a grub from some old wood bark.
You're not too educated either!
