Agree - its a good drive that goes into standby mode when not used. Impressed with mine!

For anyone that doesn't like the idea of the drive going into sleep mode when it's not in use for a certain amount of time there is a freeware app available called 'nosleephd' which is free just google it, not sure if it's windows 7 cpatible though

Anyone uses it as a PVR connected to a TV like Panasonic G20? I would be worried about it going to sleep, although I think the TV set would not let it sleep, as it uses it constantly, anyone?

Ordered! Don't forget 4% Quidco and around 100 clubcard points, brings it in at around £42.80 :P

i paid £52 for this only 2 weeks ago. I have 2 of them, I use them to back up all my photos and videos. Pleased with mine so far, but then again, I don't have them plugged in 24/7. They are simply used to backup my work.

it does go to sleep when connected to the wdtv player when switching it off, and works when going back on - this is for the 2tb version I have which is probably similar.

very noisy, returned mine few months back and bought seagate freeagent but reviews suggests that it is reliable.
