You get what you pay for, we all know this. Hitachi isn't too bad actually.. sure it's no Sony or Panasonic but if you want a cheap option for the kid's bedroom or whatever, I can't see you wanting to spend much more than this.

Also you need to elaborate - is it a poor picture on the TV channels, or a poor picture when say, using a HDMI lead from your PS3? Because the latter is usually pretty crisp on any TV.

anyone know if this has a port for usb? i bought the 19" one last year for my sons bedroom
and was surprised that it had a usb port and played avi files
#5
some reviews say it has a built in dvd player....bonus if true voted hot

Bad news...

Contrast ratio 1000:1
1 HDMI socket
1 SCART socket.
#7
Overinflated RRP. There's no way it's worth anywhere near £199.

Still £129.99 is a good price.

Hitachi - Read ARGOS VALUE BRAND
Hitachi is a well respected industrial companÿ. Sadly they chose to rent the name to Argos. This is a Generic TV, most likely a Vestel unit, which isnt really so bad, but no better than any of the other Argos brands. Namely Alba, Bush, Mikomi, Wharefdale.

It's a cheap TV, fine for the bedroom. Obviously you don't want it as your main TV.

I own a very similar Hitachi... The one I have cannot do dark colours at all. Meaning if you're watching a movie with a night scene in it it is unwatchable. I tried to watch Harry Potter Half Blood two days ago and switched off a few minutes in, when all I could see was dark blurs...

Also the built in DVD player is rubbish. The remote isn't one remote it is two remotes in one piece of plastic - meaning there is no synergy between the TV and DVD player, and the volume of the DVD playback is SO quiet I have it at 100% on any DVD (compared to 25-35% for regular programs).

It isn't identical to this TV but similar enough.,

Indeed! ..When will the government do something about this RRP farce that dealers use and is so prevalent these days.

Could be made for argos by the same company that makes them
cheapy onkyo products ?
would be better off spending a few bob more on a SONY.

Lots of heat - does that mean lots of peeps found it in stock? Or are people just assuming it is widely avaailable>

I've checked 16 stores in NI and none have stock.
