I have to say this drive perform pretty good, among 2tb "green" drives. Coz faster models of hdds e.g. wd2003fyys hit over £100 mark

I've been looking for a 2tb internal drive for some time, but have been put off by the firmware issues some other brands' 2TB drives seem to have. Anybody aware of any issues with this one? If not, I think I might go for it.

I don't think the drive is gonna make use of SATA 3's 6GB/s bandwidth, especially with 32mb cache.
Not sure why manufacturers are adding SATA 6GB/s to these drives.
I like the increased spindle speed on this over the Samsung's 5400rpm.

So tempted to replace my Samsung ECO green 1TB F2 with this. The performance of this drive in the bench marks is v.good, it punches above its price.

Its not always about speed. These are perfect for my media server, low power consumption and plenty quick enough for serving 1080p video.

Absolutely, but some people for some reason equate a larger hard drive with a faster one :/

If you want speed, think solid state drive!

I have one, and somehow I am not impressed. It is not running so cool after all, and it is not terribly fast either. Middle of the road - maybe that is good? But if I had the choice, I would go with Samsung.

Get a fan in there. Mine is nestled in between 3 other drives and is sitting at 27 degrees. Flipping death stars eh.

It's cheap and does the job, purchased 2 last time and now running in my Dell T105 server in raid 0 mode with Windows 2003 R2 OS, access speed are good enough as media server wireless MKV video to eMachine ER1402 attached to my 1080P TV. Is Death Star coming from STAR WARS film?:D
